    making rock wall

Is there any special epoxy to use? Does anyone know if Lowes has it or some where close to Spanaway that would carry the right epoxy. Thanks

    Tank mates

With all the different choices of fish out there its hard to pick. So I was looking for suggestions, on good tank mates, and actice fish, not fish that always hide. Maybe fish that like to be in pairs or small schools of fish.

    Tank mates

I have a 55gal now and will be upgrading to a 75 (hopefully next month) anyway the fish I have now is 2 clowns and 1 engineer goby. (a few months ago had a heater burnt up and cooked all my corals). I will have soft corals and was wondering how many fish would go in a 75 gal tank? And what kind...

    Lighting question

I have a Coraife compact fluorescent lighting which has 2 65w 10,000k and 2 65w actinic bulbs. The fixture is 48" long. When looking at corals and stuff to buy they say the required lighting is low, moderate or high. Which would this light be considered at low, moderate? The tank depth is 24"...

I already bought 2 can of the breckets black foam. Good point about the foam breaking down and using the epoxy as a sealer. Thanks

    Salt questions

Its been 24 hours into the making of this batch I have about 20 gallons, its at 1.021 and 70 degrees and I have about a teaspoon of salt left over on the bottom. Yes I'm using RODI water, Thanks

    Salt questions

I mix the salt using a powerhead and I will move the powerhead around the can mixing up the salt that settles to the bottom. The water gets cloudy with salt and after awhile the water is clear and I will have salt sitting on the bottom of the can. I can do this over and over for several days and...

    Salt questions

I'm using Instant Ocean salt in my garbage can for water changes and the salt does not seem to fully dissolve, is this normal? The bucket I'm using now is about 2 years old. What kind of salt is everyone else using? I haven't seen this question come up for a while so I'm checking to see if...

    making rock wall

I'm thinking about making a rock wall and have a couple of questions. The rock I'm going to use a few pieces are kinda big, once the foam is dry will it hold the rock to the eggcrate? Does purple coralline grow on the foam?

    ATO question

"purge your RODI for the 1st few gallons of water produced" Are you talking about purging the 1st few gallons when the RODI is new or every day? I understand the valve could get stuck open, but the same could happen to electrical driven systems also (althrought not likely but the risk is still...

    Skimmers

I was looking at both, but after reading all the reviews and post I'm leaning toward the SWC 120. I'm sure I will be alot happier with the SWC 120. I think that the SWC 120 will handle my bio load. Thanks

    ATO question

I'm thinking of making a manual ATO system, but haven't heard of anyone doing that (I looked and didn't see any threads on it). I want to run the ro/di water straight to the sump with a manual on/off float valve. Is anyone doing this and what kind on on/off valve are you using?

    Skimmers

I have a seaclone skimmer now and I don't like it so I'm going buy a new one. What is the best and cheapest skimmer out there. I know best and cheap don't go together. This will be going on a 75 gallon, with about 4-5 fish, live rock, and some softies. Thanks.

    Check out sump/fuge design

The sump is about 15 gallons and I'm using it on my 55 tank now without the fuge, and I don't realy care for it. After reading all the comments and looking at the design and talking it over with a co-work I have decided to make or buy another sump/fuge all in one. Thanks for all the help. I'm...

    Check out sump/fuge design

It makes since to skim before heading to the DT. I have a berlin skimmer I bought used, and was thinking of using a 3100 Rio pump with it. I have heard these are pretty good skimmers.
