    Its sounds like the sand has already been disturbed, so taking a top layer won't work. I guess the sand has been in this tank for about 3 years. Cleaning does sound like a pain in the butt, so I'm probally better off buying some when I'm ready for it. Thanks for the replys.

    I'm thinking about buying 80lbs of live sand from someone who is taking down there tank. It will be going into a 75 gal tank next month (new tank) so in the mean time should I try to keep it alive by putting it in a container with saltwater,heater and powerhead or should I just let it dry out...

    I'm going to buy some IO salt and I will feed a little less. So it is ok to mix salt brands without too many ill affects? Thanks for all the help

    I tested the water that I use for water changes and it is all good except for ca is high which I think that is beceause of the oceanic salt mix I'm using. The only additives I'm using is plankton and nitrate sponge in canister filter.

    Thanks, Krish & Matt, I want to get more corals and stuff but I'm having a hard time getting my water parameters correct. I've been reading and posted on RC and nothing seems to work so I'm getting discouraged.

    I'm using the Coralife 2-65 watt actinic and 2-65 watt 10000k. For what I have in the tank is seems to be good lights.
