    It's a little late to chime in....but you can pull them off with tweezers or cut them. The cut one will grow a new head. Personally I think this stunts their growth though. The best way would be to lay a frag next to the glass and let it run its course.

    Ive heard of people adding baking soda, it really fizzes also. Im not sure about pickling lime ive never dropped acid on it, Im guessing it fizzes though. I know people use the pickling lime for kalk sometimes. I will just have to try it and read my levels and report back in a couple months...

    If its in the water in the Bahamas then im guessing its a good thing. Ive seen some limestone that has shell fossils in it--if thats good. Missouri is 1000 miles from the nearest Ocean but the limestone here has Ocean fossils in it.

    I'm new and I know that these janitors have an In and Out hole. This may sound naive, but all the energy they are using? Where does the fuel for this energy come from? Hermit crabs spend a lot of energy. I would think that if you are not feeding them they could only help. Unless they die.

    Oh, something I could add that may help (because the palys are big enough to see whats going on). Smaller particles land on the polyp and slowly move to the mouth --unless it's not food then it moves outward and falls off the edge. So It would be hard to tell if they where eating or not.

    So do you build up a tolerance? First time I got pretty sick with the back pains (felt heavy in the lower back). Felt feverish and had faint spells for a couple days. I think ive accidentally did it a couple times after and it wasn't so bad.
