    Anemone color

This is not a poor man's hobby. I am definitely an advocate of being frugal, but not at the expense of the organisms that are in our care. I missed that you did not have a skimmer. I wouldn't dream of having corals without one. Joker, I think it is time that you re-evaluated what you want to...

    Help-RBTA's out of control!

I think you should just give up on all the RBTA's and send them all to me. It will be a chore, but I can probably figure something to do with them!:D

    Anemone color

Joker - with perfect lighting (which we cannot even begin to achieve) a nem gets 90% of it's nutrition, the other 10% comes from organic matter. In captivity, maybe 20-30% (off the top my head, no resource to back it up) comes from organic matter if you have optimal lighting. 1. Your lighting...

    Anemone color

As a keeper of a reef, you have a responsibility to the organisms you put into your tank to provide the proper environment and nutrition. At the risk of sounding ugly (and I really don't mean to be) - if you are unable or unwilling, you are part of the problem, not the solution.

    Anemone color

It has gotten HUGE because it is expanding trying to feed - a common misconception.

    Anemone color

what you didn't see, most likely, is when it regurgitated the food because it was too big. Nothing larger than it's mouth - 1/4" max. You need to consider the life of the nem and do as recommended it earlier threads, re-home the nem.

I have a BTA that split

I would suggest target feeding to supplement their nutritional needs with Coral Frenzy or Cyclopseeze while they convalesce. They will move when they are ready. I would also suggest making sure your water parameters are where they should be.

Blue Hippo - MHLLE tank size vs. light quality

Well, I think I got him set up pretty well by the time I left. It will be interesting to see the rate of reversal when I go back in October. That poor tang did not even know what the algae was when I put it on a clip in the tank. The triggers ate it better than the hippo did. When reading up on...

Will you PM me the name of the store? There are several over near Chandler, he says, and we are going shopping Saturday.

    Coral Food

Calfo feeds Coral Frenzy and Cyclopeeze, I know for sure because he told our group that. That is why I tried Coral Frenzy and the feeding response was awesome.

Blue Hippo - MHLLE tank size vs. light quality

Hi Lee, I am visiting my son in PHX right now and he recently purchased a 300gal tank set up with it's occupants. The Blue Hippo has MHLLE. The diet, water quality, and stray voltage issues have been addressed and whatever appropriate action taken. 1. Would it be better for the tang to be...

try changing 50% at a time - less shock to the system. Not sure that has anything to do with your previous problem
