    this week end is my normal water change, you do remember iam bb.....yesterday it was clear, got the over flow a almost full cap. water level in tank and sump where i want it, just the water falling over the box is alittle noisy...

    i have also been raising the salinty over the past week from 019to 023 started out mixing the water, then later added the salt straight to the sump 1/4 cup at a time, not the brightest idea i ever had, had no r/o water at the time,,

    well after yesterday messing with the overflow and return pump, everything was working well, got up this morning to feed the fish, the tank water, has a greenish tint to it, event the water in the sump, any ideas......almost looks cloudy never had this with the tank in all the years i have had it

    what i just found is with instant ocean,1/2 cup for 1 gal of water will get you 1.022, alittle more than 2 1/2 cups for 5gal...or close to it

    i did both, as well as having a ck valve on my return, and a hole at the return where the water goes back into the tank to break the sipon

    cool, i just undid the standpipe mod i did and went back with the way it came from the factory, left my setting alone, to my surprise, it increesed the flow of the water going over the skimmerbox, the water level in the overflow is about 1/4'' to 1/2"above the two pieces of pipe,no gurgle, just...

    are you using and stand pipes in your overflow to help with noise, or just adjusting the return pump

    i have done some checking around, and found that you should have the max flow your overflow can handle and still be quiet as possible, overflow should not be reduced down in pipe size, in the overflow box, one persons sujestion

    this is what iam having trouble, do you want the overflow you aer using to be unrestricked to get the max useage and flow, what is the ideal situation, as to overflow and sump opperation.

    after playing with different adjustments, i now have a quiet overflow, about 1/2to 3/4 water fall over into the skimmer box, no scum on top of water very clear,now the only thing i see is that after feeding there is alot of leftovers in the skimmerbox, just swriling around, i would think the...
