    I am finally going BIG!!

I would love to do three bulbs, the center brace is acrylic, would it be bad on the material to have that much light over it?

    I am finally going BIG!!

Sorry, I knew I would leave things out. The tank is 6'x2'x2', I want to do 1 bulb per two feet of tank but I have a huge center brace with the sea swirls in it, if I moved them to the back of the tank can/should I have a bulb over the brace?

    I am finally going BIG!!

I recently aquired a 180gal full setup with a huge amount of extra goodies.:):D :) As you can all imagine I have a one track mind right now. I am currently trying to formulate an image in my mind of how I want this system to look and I would like all of your help with it. First let me describe...

    leaky tank

Don't count that as a permanent fix though, only use it to get you by. I did the same thing on a 75gal freshwater tank I had once.

    240 Donkey Tank

I really like the looks of the 14k/10k mix in the middle, maybe the ends are a bit too extreme?

How big is your tank? Glass or acrylic?

    240 Donkey Tank

Wow, that looks good. What color bulbs are you using? It looks like two different ones but I don't want to go back through this whole thread to see if you say.

Hey Krish, how about I send you my 10 gal,:D or maybe a quart jar that you can do a pico tank in. That would be unique.

    Coraline cleanup question

How hard is it to buff scratches out of acrylic? I haven't really worked much with it and I know there are already a few scratches on the tank.

    Coraline cleanup question

Did that... As in mix the vinegar with a bucket of water? What will that do to the tank?

    My First Tank.. 55 gallon

It would seem that many of us had a rocky start to keeping reef tanks so don't sweat it too much, just keep asking questions and following advice and you will get it right. If there is one thing to learn about all this it is patience, don't ever do anything fast and if someone tries to sell you...

    Should I upgrade my lights?

What kind of reflectors do all your bulbs have? If all you have is a metal plate above the bulbs a reflector upgrade could make a huge difference without costing very much more.

    Coraline cleanup question

I recently aquired a used 180gal setup that needs some work, the problem is coraline algae is covering the entire inside of the tank, the front, back, sides, everywhere and is quite thick in some places. The tank is a Tenacor acrylic 180 with dual overflows. I am trying to clean all the...

    Fish feeding help

Yeah, I knew I would come under fire for this but I want to know how to help out my clown goby get back to health. The discussion on how to stock a nano can be very interesting and if you want to go into it I am just fine with that, I have my reasons for thinking what I am doing is ok; my...

    Fish feeding help

You are right on this fish being touted as a nano inhabitant, which I am finding more and more isn't quite right. It is in a 10 gallon that has been setup for about 8 months using water and rock (about 15lbs) from well established tanks. It's tank mates are two percula clowns and a green banded...

    My 24gal "Pod"

Keep the nano, man! You can always add a second tank when you figure out how you want it. Besides, they are so easy to take care of, it's kind of nice for a change.:)
