    Aptasia - Peppermint shrimp

"My work here is done, I must continue my journey" Or perhaps they find a nice cave and lie in wait for the apstasia to return, like a obi wan shrimp of some type.

Dealing with the contractors and the *$@! Dust

well, for a long time it was laying on top, then I adjusted in inflow and it mixed in. wasn't really trying to do that, I was attempting to get it tp flow through the overflow so the prefilter would take it out, i hope most of it did that(if I am lucky that is).

well...if its big enough around the tank it wont get under.

    Hardwood Floors

Best thing I found, is the rugs you can buy at home depot or lowes, that are on a huge roll, so you cut them to fit, and the bottom is solid rubber. Sort of an indoor/outdoor rug, but perfect for a tank. low profile too.

Dealing with the contractors and the *$@! Dust

Well, the remodel on the house continues. Despite my best efforts to counteract all the crap my landlord keeps throwing at us, I get outsmarted from time to time. Here is what happned: Last few days they have been upstairs, working on the fireplace, and windows. When the windows went in...

    Aptasia - Peppermint shrimp

I got one of those pep shrimp- but he was not that busy and didn't help all that much, and then went MIA. I don't have anything that could have swallowed him whole, unless he went through the overflow down to the lair of the eel in the sump. I may never know- or the coral shrimp killed him and...

    72 degrees...wtf?

I threw in a second heater before I went to bed. I am not that worried about it, everything I have has endured quite a bit. I haven't checked the temp yet but It came back up slow so things have been as stressless as possible.

    72 degrees...wtf?

My room felt strangly cold tonight, I happned to check out the tank, and both probes were reading 72. everything looked ok, all polyps extended, lps looked great. Seems I have heard before that such a low temp could be very bad. It probably dropped over the course of 5 hours or so. Not sure why...

    can coralline be green??

I have the purple, pink, and light green. I was at saltwater city one time and theirs had "black" on it....allthough im not exactly sure what that was, but it sure was everywhere. They claimed it was coraline. Also, I found that the purple changed to pink in my tank one time after I switched...

    Hyrogen peroxide for aptasia?

I just went to rite aid- bought a pack of 10 for 2.50 from the pharmacist. I felt a little strange buying needles, I actually told them it was for aquarium related perposes, but I don't think they cared.

    Hyrogen peroxide for aptasia?

So this could work as opposed to buying kalk at a LFS? interesting.. I have tried the boiling water and buffer(powder) solution and that didn't work for me. I am curious about the p-shrimp though, that seems like a good way to keep it at bay after the main killing is done...

    Hyrogen peroxide for aptasia?

I was thinking about getting some P-shrimp, there are small ap's all over, just finding them takes forever. It would be nice to have something working on the problem when i'm not around. I did get a few to melt with the peroxide- but the mojanos don't seem to give a s***. Where would I look...

    Hyrogen peroxide for aptasia?

    My Tank Has A Bullseye

I have heard from a few poeople that sandwiching a crack between 2 peices of glass w/ silicone holds for quite some time. It probably isn't going to look perfect, but if on the back the rock work would hide it pretty well.

    Feeding Live Foods

I would argue that bloodworms are in fact pretty nutritious. I breed caudates(tailed amphibians) and as soon as larvae can eat blackworms for a week or 2, almost all aquatic species can live exlusively on frozen bloodworms. There are some brands that are just plain poor quality, but for the most...

    Will an emerald crab eat...

Good to know, right now, its just a little bit and I will probably cut it back soon. I was thinking off trying to cultivate the harvested cuttings some in a non-heated bowl or something on the bathroom counter and just change the water out with old water once in a while. I was warned that as...
