    Brittle stars in power head?

    sounds pretty normal to me too,i have smaller bristleworms get in between the magnet cleaner and the glass.my only question has always been how do they get up to the magnet....apparently they can climb the glass.

    sump big enough?

    i dont think adding sand from someone elses sand to the tank would be a big deal,just as long as its not a lot at any one time....ive added a pound here and there to my tank with no problems.if the sand is nice and mature,there shouldnt be too much waste in it as the fauna has been feasting on...

    Flow rate

    honestly,by what youve said,id just go with a mag pump,fairly cheap,fairly quiet,and in a tank that size you shouldnt have to worry much about heat if you have the tunze pumps.i use a mag 9.5 on my 75 and dont have an issue with heat...or noise. i think any mag from 5 to a 9.5 would work fine...

    this is JUST for the return pump right? youll need and want more than that for total flow.

    i havent updated my staple yet so here are the tanks basic specs.its a 75 gallon with left hand side overflow,has a 40 gallon sump.use a mag 9.5 for the return pump.the tank has 3 powerheads inside of it for water flow/movement.1 maxijet 1200,a penguin 1140.i also have 1 of 2 modded powerheads.1...
