Red C It appears you run your tank temps quite a bit cooler than the rest of us do. Is there any particular reason you choose to do this? Please share with us, maybe I can understand better!!:)

    Syphoning gravel

It is very important to be very gentle with your substrate. Make sure that your make up water matches salinity, temp, and ph. I always try to replace the water slowly a well to try to minimize shock on my livestock. This has always worked well for me. :)

Shane's DIY LED Project with lots of help!!

We will be using reef led lights I believe. 24 3 watt Crees with a mix of colors. I think Meanwell but I am not positive. 18 " heatsinks with the shell that they sell for 60$. I have decided to use a controller after seeing how simple Eric's is to use. Much more controll than I ever had with my...

    saltwater holding for weekly changes

Wow, thats quite a heavy bio load for a young tank. I would do BIG way changes and test very regularly. Remember it is very important to match the display on salinity and temp!!

I would think its NOT completely cycled. I would do a very Large water change then test after 24 hrs and see where your test results are.

If you run your tank at 77 degree your make up water should match that. If you heat it to 80 degrees it would swing it the other way. Does that make sense how I explained it?

Water going in should match water going out. Same temp and salinity.:)

Will, it would appear to me that that would cause a big temp swing If you were to change out say 10 %. That could flex and swing your temps a lot. Corals will slime if stressed.

I didn't mean for it to be kept tank temp at all times. I just hoped he wasn't putting 72 degree water straight into his system.
