600 Gallon Mixed Reef: Looking for input

It's plumbed into a 150 gallon sump with 1.5" PVC, ball valves, unions. Is that what you were asking about?

600 Gallon Mixed Reef: Looking for input

The tank is plumbed into the garage which is on the other side of the wall. So I guess my tank room is about 24 feet x 24 feet if I don't want to park any cars in the garage. I have a Sequence Hammerhead for a return. I also have two Tunze 6100's and two Tunze 6200's to mount inside the...

600 Gallon Mixed Reef: Looking for input

I was looking at using the Luminarc 3 reflectors. Bulbs only 3" or so off the water. I was going to use the Sequence 5800 for my return pump(s). I had the tank drilled with 4 two inch holes in the overflow to allow as much drainage as possible, doubt I will use all 4 as drains.

600 Gallon Mixed Reef: Looking for input

Made some progress on the display tanks stand last night. A few items left to do (probably less than an hours worth of work) and it will be ready for the tank.

600 Gallon Mixed Reef: Looking for input

I have two questions: 1) Would 14" of open space above the tank be enough for lighting? 2) Does it really matter how far my water drops from the overflows to the sump?

Quarantine Set-ups: Connect to Main System?

I think I am being misunderstood regarding the purpose of the QT tanks. They are not intended to be Hospital tanks for anything coming out of the main system, they are intended for acclimating the new fish/corals to my systems chemistry and to treat for any possible parasites that they might...

Quarantine Set-ups: Connect to Main System?

I was thinking of putting two T's on the drain from the main display with ball valves on them so I could fill the quarantines when I needed to use them, not plumbing the tanks back into the system.

    My 557 @ 4 years

Hi Kevin, Tank looks incredible as always. I was curious if you might have any detailed photos of the stand construction for your tank? I am preparing to build the stand for my 600 gallon tank and decided to go with a wood stand and really like the fact that you built yours so that it...
