    LR Curiosity Question

I understand the concept of "cooking", but the reality confuses me. If you take a beautiful reef tank, put it in the dark, change copious amounts of water, what do you get? Base rock. Not being rude, I just don't get this new fad you crazy kids are into. Many years ago, curing live rock was done...

    clownfish pregnant?

Ovipositor. Yep. That's the organ. Ovipositor. They don't get pregnant, the eggs are fertilized after they are laid. Gravid is the term for her voluptuosness. The black spot has me intrigued...

    Live rock help

Alas, you have touched upon a sore subject. "...cheaper than the LFS." I won't bore you with my sob stories, only suggest support the LFS' that are worth supporting in any way you can, lest they not be there when you really need them. Will Drs. Can someone tell me the proper way to frag an lps coral.

Go through the back. Remember the tool will get extremely hot. Be careful not to cook the coral! Work slow and patiently. After fraggimg, the Hydnophora exesa will be very vulnerable to KH/Ca swings, so watch your dosing!

    Bi-color Angel and Niger trigger

If I were a Niger trigger, I would love to grow up to eat your firefish! Even if you were lucky enough to recieve one of the "Good" triggers, it's prescence alone may be enough to keep your firefish in hiding, eventually resulting in starvation. The Bicolor angel is a fairly difficult fish to...

    otto fluidised bed filter

The fluidized bed filters are more for freshwater applications. They do not function as well in lower oxygen contents, (like saltwater). If you have an adequate supply of live rock/sand, it may only be counter productive, (by breaking down nutrients into something only cyano bacterium or micro...

    Personal poll...I need your opinions

Number 1. There is no legitamate reason to subject your inhabitants to the turmoil of relocation. Use the 75 as your sump/ refugium!

    Detached mushroom

This mushroom was just serious about leaving, that's all. The only time I've seen them bud like that is when something nearby is messing with them.

    Fish and invertebrates X-rays sensitivity

As National Securities have undoubtedly tightened in the last decade, there obviously must have been a renewed increase in the inspection of baggage, both on-board and in cargo. That being said, wouldn't it stand to reason that the cargo in the belly of the plane would also necessitate scrutiny...

    Live rock help

I suggest pre-mixing your water at all times. Make sure the temperature and salinity are where you need them to be, before using the water. As far as raising the salinity in the existing tank, I would do it slowly through partial water changes, (no more than 25% at a time). Most corals do better...
