No link, but for an absolutely FABULOUS book grab Anthony Calfo's Reef Intertebrates. It's got a ton of info/photos of macroalgae as well as reef tank invertebrates. Well worth the expense.

I find these discussions/studies difficult to follow for the following reasons:
1. These studies always seem to find that ALL salt mixes contain many elements that are present in significantly higher amounts than NSW.
2. We don't know what any of these elements do. Meaning what is toxic in...
I agree with MikekS!
We spend $80 on a coral, but then try to skimp on additives that are not as pure as the more expensive stuff. But even then we are talking about saving 10-30$. I used to try to go the cheaper route until I woke up to the amount of $ I had in my tank in livestock and the...
Personally, I have used seachem with much success.
It's great because it's a dry product (or atleast you can get it this way) which makes it cheaper and in my opinion less messy. You do have to mix it, so I guess it takes a bit more effort, but it's really quick.

Very nice growth you achieved there.
How about details on all the goodies? (flow, salt, skimmer type, carbon, UV, ozone, lighting, reactors, supplements.....etc)

Albert,
Just curious if your coral loss was all purchased colonies or if you also have some tank grown frags being affected. In the past I have experienced problems like this and is seemed as though all my "wild harvested" colonies rtn'd and my tankraised acros ended up fairing OK. I don't...
you are the correct one here!! :)
Kalk will help to keep both your calcium and alk in the proper levels, however it is much better at keeping the alk in place. A tank drawing a lot of calcium will usually need calcium additions in whatever form in addition to the kalk. In a display your size...
Nice husbandry to get your tank to that point.
I guess I'm late to the party, so maybe this has been asked....
Isn't that a blue face angel in your reef with sps AND clams!!!???
I guess it's working for you......any recommendations to the rest of us on how to do that? Do you have what you...
I guess there really is no definitive way to see if a pair has successfully spawned unless you witnessed it! :)
What I would tell you is if an LFS has several of these around they have probably not spawned, but are merely paired. Not nescessarily because it is too difficult, but rather...
Most of the time "mated" clownfish have not actually had a successful spawn, which is what is really relevant to most of us. However, in many cases, what mated implies is that they are 2 fish that are coexisting and getting along as a "pair" would. Meaning that based on the difference in size...
