    hypo with anemone??

You can also try and hold the rock just out of the water slowly lifting , kind of like the tide is going out. I have had the Anemone come right off. This does not work with a heavy rock and please do no drop the rock.

    Upgrading, will this work?

I would add a air outlet line on the refugium overflow box wit a aqua lifter or a line attached to one of your pumps to ensure ther is no bubble trap in the overflow box. Controll, ball valve, on all return pumps in case you need to adjust the flow. Unions if you plan on hard plumbing it.

    Finally! Gina's (NanoReefer411's) 180+tank upgrade! =)

The fish would probably not change if there was no reason to (sex)...When the fish hatch, as I preveously said approximately 14 days, they are the size that you are seeing now. Very, Very small. They will usually dive into the gravel and never be seen. Or be consumed by the tank inhabitants...

Looking for someone to drill my 50b

If you have the hole saw for drilling glass just make a clay circle around the place you want to drill and you can use any type of drill. You have to start at a angle to start the grove and then slowly straighten your drill up to level. The hole saw will do the work without applying hardly any...

    Through wall bulkhead?

Personally I would make the hole big enough for everything to fit through and still keep it within the size of a air vent cover or floor register cover, rectangle... Then if you move take everything out put the cover up and it will look like it is suppose to be there. Lot less work than...

I am an acrylic newby with a couple Qs

I was thinking more like an upper corner overflow box instead of a top to bottom corner overflow box with the durso drain external. I guess it depends on your space of where you are placing your tank and what you want to see.

    sump plumbing question

The bulkheads that came with your tank, the ones with the nipples, are designed to have a 1 inch hose for the drain and the returns are a 3/4 hose that slips over the nipple and then you can hose clamp them on for a little extra security. The link I sent you should take you right to my tank and...

    sump plumbing question

Are you using the bulkheads that came with the tank? They have a nipple on the end? If so, flexable hose will work better, easier to fit, line up, a lot less measuring and fuss. If you are using normal bulkheads you can do either. If you hard plumb it with pvc some of the spa pvc hose will...

Anyone ever put a drain on their tank for water changes?

Why not add valve or hose spicket into the drain side of the plumbing?? You could hook a hose to it and drain it anywhere you want. Sounds like you where talking about putting the bulkhead through the tank.

    Finally! Gina's (NanoReefer411's) 180+tank upgrade! =)

Another quick note clown eggs when layed are usually a bright orange. they go to clear in a few days and the closer to releasing from the spot they were layed will have fluorescent green "eyes" on the end. From laying the eggs to release is usually around 14 days. I have heard that clowns will...

    Finally! Gina's (NanoReefer411's) 180+tank upgrade! =)

HI Gina the setup looks awsome!!! Did you ever get the bulheads you needed? I kind of skipped ahead to the end of the thread. Quick note if your are getting some noise from your durso it sounds like you need to allow more air intake ( hole need to be bigger)

    Upgrading, will this work?

Sometimes learning can be tough on us. Hopefully better things will come of it. I have killed my share of things over time.

    Upgrading, will this work?

High flow will help in washing and getting as much as possible out of the rocks. A HOB with a good pad will help in removing the unwanted organics out of the water to keep it from getting back in the rocks. A heater is nice but not really necessary since there is no life as of yet. Try and...

    Upgrading, will this work?

Power washing the rock will remove most of the organics. They do not sterilize the rocks when they harvest from the ocean or if they mine it from a dryed up ocean bed, so all the dirt and anything that was living in the rock before dies and stays in or on the rocks. Cycling the rock helps to...
