Sequence "dart" pump - good, bad, or ugly?

I heard rumors about the 1" pump, just wasnt sure how soon they will be out. I really don't like having my loop inactive right now. I guess I will contact sequence and see when they will start shipping them. -Erik

Sequence "dart" pump - good, bad, or ugly?

Does anyone have any information about plumbing these with anything smaller than a 1.5" line? I would love to use a dart myself but my loop is plumbed with 1" line. A shame there are no decent pumps in that range that use 1" mpt and don't suck down massive amounts of electricity. -Erik

    What Creates Your Flow?

Im an other with Reed. Closed loop powers 4 outlets up top as well as 4 on the bottom of the tank. The return pump powers 4 more outlets on the top of the tank. I also have an extra powerhead in there. I'm a flow junky. :D -Erik

How do I remove Chemi-clean from tank

I was assuming that the adjustment pipe was all the way down if he resorted to turning off the skimmer. But I guess you can't rule anything out. I'm denfinately with Ken and Nikki on that one as well. -Erik

How do I remove Chemi-clean from tank

How long, can't say. As far as micro-bubbles, I wouldn't be concerned. The water will be overflowing to and falling to the surface of the sump the addition of bubbles should be negligable assuming your pump is being feed near the bottom of the sump. Coral, no worries. Some say they can irritate...

How do I remove Chemi-clean from tank

Are you certain it is the chemi-clean solution that is causing the skimmer to overflow and not a result of the die-off of the cyno or something resultant from the process and having the skimmer off? Just tossing that out there. Anyhoot, like you have been doing, the best way to pull out chemi...

    Red Bugs - Inevitable?

I find it interesting/troubling when anyone tries to qualify the value of the specific lives within our tanks, as aquarist as a whole both regularly and actively eradicate a myriad of life forms from their tanks, despite general good nature and conscientious reefing telling us that nothing is an...

There are SOME fish Craig, however few. I usually take a VERY long time stocking my tanks. Often not adding the first fish for atleast 4-5 months. There are two fish in the tank currently and the other two should be coming along in the next 2-3 months. -Erik

    Uptown Reef: In the Work

I got a few people asking (chat, pm) if this is "new" livestock and I just wanted to clear up this is in no way an INSTA-TANK. Everything in this tank I have had in my two year old "ghetto reef." I have simply moved it to a new house and a new tank. Grew it all from small colonys and frags...

A day in the life of a red bug

Hey charlie, one thing I wanted to mention. You said you turned off you skimmer. It is preffered that you simple stop injecting air and run the water through your skimmer so every nook and cranny of your tank gets hit with the interceptor. Though the chances of a bug sitting in your skimmer and...

    Uptown Reef: In the Work

I really dislike the look of tonga branch and shelf, though deepwater is decent. If I go for frag rock I'll get pulkani. I was thinking a chunk of figi for the base and stack a piece or two of pukalni or maybe kaelani on it. -Erik

A day in the life of a red bug

Wait a go Charlie. Any bug-killer is friend of mine. Lets all work to stop spreading them to other hobbiest and get our tanks back in tip-top shape. Glad things went well. -Erik

    Uptown Reef: In the Work

Thanks for the kind words guys, I truelly appreciate it. After a week of staying up VERY late and franticly trying to finish the tank by thursday as I had to be out of my old house I was rather stressed out that I would loose some livestock of the tank wouldn't pan out right. So far I'm just...

    riccordia not doing well

Give it some time. Ricordea tend to be very hardy, and assuming your tank is in decent shape and you atleast aclimated it somewhat, it should be just fine. -Erik
