Has anyone used the Sequence "dart" pump? I'm planning on setting up a 55 with a closed loop, and was considering the dart becuase of low power consumption, high flow, 3yr warranty, and supposedly it's quiet - and the tank will be in my bedroom. Anyone have any input on this pump\brand? Thanks!

The LFS by my house swears by Sequence. I have a Barracuda, but haven't hooked it up yet. Supposedly they run cool and aren't too noisy. HTH

I have both a Sequence Barricuda and a Dart. Dart is almost silent. Barricuda I wouldn't want next to my bed though! :)

Does anyone have any information about plumbing these with anything smaller than a 1.5" line? I would love to use a dart myself but my loop is plumbed with 1" line. A shame there are no decent pumps in that range that use 1" mpt and don't suck down massive amounts of electricity.

Sequence is releasing a new line of pumps called the 'UNO' and they are going to be the 1" type. They should be out in the next week or so according to their forum on RC.

As far as the DART and plumbing it down to 1" from 2" it is not recommended. I'm just relaying information I've read though.

I heard rumors about the 1" pump, just wasnt sure how soon they will be out. I really don't like having my loop inactive right now. I guess I will contact sequence and see when they will start shipping them.

here is a post direct from Sequence regarding ship dates. Today is the day for release of the info on the pumps but so far I haven't seen it posted but then again it's only 10:45. :)

----
We are e-mailing all the pertinent info to the dealers on July 6th and posting them here as well. We will be ready to ship by July 12th. All dealers can drop-ship if desired.

Many thanks for the info my friend. I think I will just wait to run my closed loop agian until they are shipping the new sequences. Until then I'll just have to stuff a few powerheads behind my rocks.

Forgive the semi-thread-highjack

I use them on all my frag tanks. I love them.. Cost is great, energy efficient, move a ton of water.. You will love them, almost no noise.

p.s. From what MDM told me the main reason for the change is the fact that people over tighten the necks and they break. I know for fact as I broke 1, called them had one in the mail that day. Didn't charge me 1cent and it was totally my fault!

All of these pumps come with a 3 year warranty and they are all low speed. From the testing that we conducted we found that in many cases, these pumps are quieter, use less watts, have more flow and have a longer warranty. I hope this answer most of the questions on this new series. Again, don't hesitate to contact us with any questions. Sorry for the delay!!
