taking care of friends Gorgonian...New lesson.

oh yes, gorgonians =(. I had this problem few years ago and almost wipe out my reef. I didnt figure it out until i ask someone in reef central. He told me that when they start decaying, it will release some type of toxin and can be deadly for our tank. Sure enough it was the gorgonian. I manage...

    Phospate/Carbon Reactor Question

ROWAUSA, Thats a very good information. I think people forget (like me :) ) to start slow and end up using it to their tank right away. As far as rinsing the ROWAPHOS, i like the idea of dipping the ROWAPHOS in R/O water with a filter bag just enough to rinse the ROWAPHOS. reeffan

    Phospate/Carbon Reactor Question

Cool looking tank =). Tsakik, i saw your other post about washing the rowaphos and just wondering how did you wash your rowaphos before using your deltec unit. You mentioned that ROWA says do not wash, but you also said Deltec's instruction is to wash to the Rowaphos. Did you do any different on...

    Yay!!!!! Upgrading!!!!!

Patience is the key and i agree. Do some research first (they are free =) before you buy this gadgets. However..If you do use a high hood, 400 watt MH would work. But in your case, it sounds like you wanted to use your existing canopy and thats too overkill. You can use 1 250 MH and it should be...

This is my thoughts... If i have a heavy bio-load tank, im looking for a skimmer that can keep up with my needs. Phospate/Carbon Reactor Question

RowaUSA, Thanks for the input. I was also ask by someone to add another plate for the top part. Its a good point to have it so no phospate remover can go into the system. As for the lid or top flange, its really not that difficult to open it. Just twist the 6 nylon screw about 3-5 times each...
