ROWAUSA said:One note on rinsing ROWAphos. If using it in a filter bag, dip the bag filled with ROWAphos in a bucket with about a gallon of RO water, like a tea bag. This will rinse the fines away and you will be good to go.
If using ROWAphos in a reactor, like the Deltec FR-509, fill it half way, which is 1 liter. Then connect a hose to the input line and turn the water on very slow. You will see what looks like like very strong coffee fill the reactor and start running out the exit fitting. Just allow the water to run slowly for a few minutes, taking care not to apply to much flow so the ROWAphos is pushed through the top sponge. After a few minutes, the water from the output fitting will turn clear. The reactor will still look cloudy, but that's OK. Let it settle for 15 minutes and it will be ready to install.
Just go slow and start with a very low flow through the reactor to start. You don't want to shock your system by dropping the phosphate level to fast.
