Need more flow... tunze or vortech?

Tunze>Vortech Ive never heard someone say "I hate my Tunze" Ive heard plenty of gripes about vortech breakdowns and bad wetside bearings ect.

My water turned Milky white over night.

everyone outside of my pocillapora and stylo corals are happy as can be. But the stylo and poccilla are only slightly better. Very interesting and new for me. Kinda sucks since I really like them over my other species.

My water turned Milky white over night.

No halimeda aglae. My KH was a little low at 7.5(I like to keep it at 9.0) I turned up the carbon reactor pump, to get the water flowing faster. Normally I like the slower contact time, but I felt it was better to get as much volume through it as I could. I also ended up doing a 20% WC and the...

My water turned Milky white over night.

Carbon is going full bore now. Im headed over to the aquarium room to begin the tests. Sump is a 55g for my DT, but I have a 3g tub with macro algae in it that drains from the DT and spills down into the sump. Im actually in the process of upgrading everything and plan to introduce a 30g fuge...

My water turned Milky white over night.

Most of my corals look fine, a few are closed, but overall 3/4 of the population is open, albeit a little bit stressed. Water color has never looked like this before. Its cloudy white. Not dirty or brown. Not green. Just like someone added a quart of milk to the tank. Obviously I'm about to...

Who feeds thier corals with rotifers?

Dont you feed rotifers once a week Dang? I don't think you specified live or frozen in you TOTM thread. I want to learn about live ones. I think I can do them successfully with enough reading. PS dang, I'm really really bummed out.... I killed 4 of those corals you sold me :( The Special...

Who feeds thier corals with rotifers?

Im thinking I might like to try it. Was wondering if anyone out there who does it as a regular practice, and if its really worth the effort?

Could use a little help picking out the right Neptune controller....

Im doing the research right now as it is, but I thought I would also ask for some advice as well. Here is the back story: Recently I decided to go with a pair of Tunze 6105, on sale for $280 Turbelle® Tunze Stream® 6105 (Controllable 792 to 3,434 GPH) - English With this choice in power...

Way too much humidity. Need advice.

Just an update: Last week I cleaned all the walls, and I installed a small 4w (5 inch)high speed fan that pulls out a little over 400 cubic feet per minute.I picked it up at a grow shop for 30 bucks. Came with a wall socket plug in. Since its so low in power consumption, I dont mind it being on...

    Single MP40 or two? in a 125g 72" brick.

Oh, so they just have a default setting of full blast :( Well I see they have the controllers as low as $64: Tunze Single controller (7091.000) - English And as high as $260: Tunze Multicontroller (7095.000) - English Just a matter of choosing the best match for myself. Since the cheap one only...

    Single MP40 or two? in a 125g 72" brick.

I think I might lean towards these.I can find plenty of negative on the Eco techs, but haven't heard a peep against the tunze.Significantly cheaper, and fully direct-able. I am having a bit of trouble figuring out why they are listed as controllable, yet the product description at bulk reef...

    Single MP40 or two? in a 125g 72" brick.

Ive been reading on the tunze myself last 20 min. I see they go pretty high up the charts as well. $700ish for the top end. The pulse mode for the Tunze, does it give you good wave action? I'm wanting to step it up for my corals, and am hoping the random action of water currents will stimulate...

    Single MP40 or two? in a 125g 72" brick.

$700! That rules out two. Id be able to get 1. And isn't that a little overkill? The Mp40 will do up to a 500g tank. Mp60 is up to 1,000. I'd be at the minimum spec for an MP60.
