    QT for Acro Eating Flatworms

I do not think it necessarily would be required to use MH to QT your acros, but since they may need to be in QT for a lengthy amount of time you would probably end up with brown acros if you just used PC's. No reason IMO to spend money on beautifully colored acros if you are just going to let...

Help ASAP - PH and skimming issue

If your skimmer isn't producing any bubbles at all then most likely your venturi is blocked. The Ph lowering solution you are using, is it granular? Perhaps a piece of carbon was sucked into the line and that's what's causing it to not produce bubbles. I would check that if it doesn't start...

If you happen to miss this series you can buy it on ebay usually around 40 or 50 dollars.

    QT for Acro Eating Flatworms

Any luck with the betadine solution? How are the corals looking now? Any coloration at all? Come on we need updates :)

Loud clicking coming from my tank

Hmmm well I'm not the largest fan of mantis shrimp but for one to kill 6 over a 6 night time span seems excessive even for a mantis. I could be wrong here but I didn't think they ate that much. Maybe you have the Tsavo lions of the mantis world? How long has the tank been set up? Perhaps you...

    nudi id

You know you'd think so wouldn't you...hmmmm  I suppose I should thank her for pointing me in the right direction. After an exhausting 5 minute search I came across something that looked similiar to my little friend, but not quite. So after another 5 painful minutes I was so bored...

    nudi id

My dear but sometimes misguided friend has given me some advice over the phone about this little fellow here. She believes that this is probably the cause of my missing zoas, due to the coloration and the addition of cirri on the back of the animal. If anybody can confirm this I'm sure that it...

    bio balls in the wet/dry

IMO the only time you want to use the bioballs is if you are trying to keep a sterilized fish only tank. The LR should provide all the bacteria needed and as Don already said your skimmer will provide the gas exchange especially if don ever tells us how to make the rest of the locking flange...

Urgent Lighting question Please help fast

two 175s will be better because they are the most effective when placed every two feet. One halide on a 36" tank will cause darker areas towards the left and right sides of the tank. Just be sure and watch the heat issues. A couple of well placed fans should do the trick.

    Mag Pumps

I have a mag 5 running the return on my 55 and a mag 3 on the return of my 20. They both run great. I wouldn't say they run real hot, but they are loud. I would say the noise is the only downfall for this brand.

    feather duster spew

Ok so I get out of the shower today to notice that my tank is turning a nice milky white. My first thought is the pistol shrimp has turned up a nice bit of sand. Nope not him at all. My feather duster is spewing a nice milky white substance out of the crown. Any thoughts on what this is. Do...

    Twist lock flanges

After thinking about this for about an hour last night lying in bed, I thought that the angle of your flanges probably will not be the same as mine due to the difference in the the length and width of the flanges, but could you please still let me know what you used and that will give me a good...

Need some help. I'm at that point where I can start stocking!

If you go with the copperband I would make sure that it's eating frozen mysis/mysid before purchasing it as they tend to be hard to keep if they aren't.

If you had to choose between these hair algae crew...

In my short experience with seahorses, I had a Mag 3 as my return and found that even with that small amount of flow (even after going up 4') was too much flow for my horses, I had to reduce the flow of the return by almost half. So I would think a Seio would be way too much flow. I agree...

    coral sting

You just think you are uber cool because you are an SPS snob!!!!! ;) Plus I don't like gloves because they dry out my skin even more than it already is. And I want scars from my tank, because girls dig scars!!!!
