    brain in trouble

Just a suggestion here... DO NOT GET THE DIP-STICK type testset!!! Spend the extra money, and buy Salifert!!!! More accurate, and with things going on in your system, that accuracy may help you actually find out what is happening. The Dip-Stick type testsets only tell you if you are in a...

From what I've learned... NO ONE will take the steps needed to REALLY QT a fish like YOU WOULD! A LFS may do a QT, but they can't do one correctly AND really continue making a profit on their fish... even if you are only thinking about the numbers of fish they need to get in on a continous...

    Baby (fry) pipefish

Not knowing a lot about rasing fry myself, I would suggest you contact Elmo and see what kind of information he may have for you. I know he has done wonderfully with rasing Clown fry... and that information may help you some with these. Best of luck!!! :D

    Dimensions of cut-out for overflow?

Being a glass tank, I wouldn't attempt teeth either. Just keep in mind, that if you have snails in your tank, they will be drawn to the top of the water, and if they are very close to the size of that slit you have cut in your glass, they may clog it. As the length gets longer, the flow-rate...

    Dimensions of cut-out for overflow?

Rachel, Depending on where/who you are taking it to, they may also have some suggestions for you... so don't hesitate in asking them! Personally, IF I was to be in the process of adding overflows... I would like to just add teeth along the entire top back of my tank, then add an overflow box...

You might also try contacting Aquatic Dreams in Spokane. I realize Spokane isn't just a hop-skip-jump away from you, but it may be best to get what actually works befor you attempt a copper treatment. http://www.aquaticdreams.biz/

    Acro not opening

Also, Not sure which version of the Aqua-C you have... but I think they are really only rated up to about a 75-gallon system??? What do your tests look like, and which test-kits are you using? Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, Phosphate and pH?

    Acro not opening

Nodough, Did you really mean you keep your tank at 89 degrees F? I would venture a guess, that most people strive for around the 80 degree F mark, and start fretting if things get up much over 83 degrees. From your descriptions, this would be my guess, too warm on your water. Hopefully...

Need Assistance with diagnosis: Copperband Butterfly

Sorry to hear about your loss Kirk. I would guess (and this is an un-educated one, at that) that with this happening sooo quickly for you, what ever caused the problem in this fish happened before you happened to purchase him, and you were just stuck dealing with the concenquences.

What fish would work best? Can I get one more tang?

I will admit to being biast, but I believe an Achilles would mix in nicely in that size tank. :D ;)

Tang has what looks like small white worm on eye need help

Irky, 1st... WELCOME TO REEF FRONTIERS!!! :D :D :D Lee is amazing with his knowledge on how to cure & protect our fishes. Try and get him a good picture of your tang, and attach that here for him to see for himself what you are seeing. You may also want to read his thread here, so you can...

    Fish Disease ID

Don't ya just hate it, when someone posts what starts out like a simple question... then evolves into work for your fingers! Once again you point out what I have seen again and again in posts here, but haven't conscientiously put two & two together for myself for the answer. Thank you...

    Fish Disease ID

Lee, Thank you for your very well written explanation above!!! :D 1st, let me get one thing perfectly clear... I READ ALL YOUR POSTS! :) On those days you are taking a small sabbatical from us here in Reef Frontiers, my online time is drastically cut down. You don't think I want to get...

    Fish Disease ID

Lee, I have looked through all of your "Stickies" here, and I haven't found a good one that would help us in identifying some of the various ailments our fish might get. Something with pictures, perhaps on a couple different fish types... so when someone like Jnance here [Uh-Oh] (or, myself...

    uh-oh

Jnance, Lee has writen up some excellent "Stickies" here to help our fish... and if you do truely have Ich, I recommend reading the following information: http://www.reeffrontiers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27155 I hope this helps, until Lee joins in here for added guidence. Keep us...

    Clean up crew

Speedy, I also started my 75 (a few years back now) with a Crushed Coral substrate... and wish that I had not. Watch your Nitrate levels very closely, and be prepared to do larger-weekly water changes to help keep them (Nitrates) in check. The Crushed Coral, being a larger particle size, is...

Poll: What do you feed your corals?

Where you interested in what people are feeding their Softies, LPS, SPS... some combination of those... or just a general question? I also do "blender mix" (so no poll vote from me), but then again I have just SPS now, so no longer target feed anything more than my GBTA.
