Hey, things have been going well with the tank. I have been so busy with school and work that I haven't had time to do much else. I did get a mated pair of pom pom crabs which are doing very well with the exception that they don't come out as much as I would like them to. I have a bunch of...

    Pom Pom Crab help

Aiptasia are generally unwanted and I don't know of anywhere that sells them. You can try some of the LFS and see if they have any on their live rock and I bet they would give it away for free. The issue with trying to give them that anemone would be having them spread throughout the tank and...

    Pom Pom Crab help

I recently got a pair (female has eggs) and love them. I have done extensive research on them and they will sometimes find other things to replace the anemones. Could range from an aptasia to corals. It isn't guaranteed it will replace them and can do fine without them as long as he/she doesn't...

    Alchemic Reef

When I order my tank I had also paid for a skimmer that Cadlights was selling. To my surprise it wasn't included in the box with the tank and after a call and few emails they informed me they were on backorder. After more than a month they have finally shipped it as of yesterday. So my...

    Alchemic Reef

As an update everything seems to be going very well and even got a pair of Pom Pom Crabs...they are so cute. They are shy since they are new to the tank but hope they become comfortable to come out more often. Funny, I didn't realize how many hiding places are in my tank until I try to look for...

    It does help, thank you.

    Reverse Candy Stripe Rock Anemone

I was looking to get an anemone for my nano tank and looks like rock anemones are hardy and tend not to move once they are placed in the tank. Since I plan to have various corals this seems like an ideal one to have. I understand they won't host clown fish which is ok but was hoping sexy shrimp...

My 24g aquapod soon to be coral

I have no real knowledge about it but have heard of Velvet sea slugs that eat flat worms. I dont anything about them beyond that but I like the idea of using a biological means of getting rid of something instead of chemicals.

    Alchemic Reef

Had to run an errand and it was gone when I came back. It didn't have a shell...was oval and somewhat transparent. Next time I'll take it out and take a better pic.

Hmm, I have found a couple of dead scarlet hermits without their shells but all of mine are still accounted for...seems odd since I have no idea where they would have come from.

You are probably right. Once everything is finished cycling I would love to take you up on that offer, thank you.

I think you may be on to something. My Blue Xenia was happy at first but isn't looking that good now. I'll try just using one of the lights for a few days and see what happens.

I was planning on getting a dedicated light such as the JBJ Refugium Light but if it would be better to go with flame algea and sea lettuce I will strongly consider those.
