    Sicce pump/skimmer question-

I got the MSX1S. Figured if I so desired/felt neccessary I could buy the second pump later on down the line. Carbon fiber huh? That's cool because it's quite a bit less expensive, which surprised me when I saw it.

    No input anywhere?

What not to do to your sump

It was on my 120 which is now operating sumpless/skimmerless until I get this all figured out. I moved the heaters up to the display and the closed loop/Nanostreams/Korallias provide more than enough water movement.

What not to do to your sump

I was thinking duct tape, a couple of ratchet straps, and life sized picture of the sump in the stand that I took shortly after the tank was set up that I can prop up in there so my wife doesn't see.

What not to do to your sump

I've got two items made by IAP, my sump (RIP) which was made before the company changed ownership, and my aqaurium which was made after the change. The difference in quality is night and day; that sump was high quality old world craftsmanship, the tank- not so much. That's the real tragedy.

What not to do to your sump

Ya know, I actually surprised myself on this one; totally kept my cool, not even a "son of a...". Just stood there with wet feet staring at it. Then I went in to bandage my hand (couldn't help but to try to rescue it half way down).

What not to do to your sump

Thanks for the sympathies. I'm thinking that I'm going to have to start looking into the Brute-container-as-a-sump option seeing as how I just dropped big scratch on a new skimmer.

What not to do to your sump

Yeah so like the title says, this is what not to do to your sump- After sump mods, make sure that the table it's sitting on is stable before you test for watertight integrity. Pretty much takes the wind out of your sails to see a few hundred dollars worth of acrylic hit the deck.

    Sicce pump/skimmer question-

Hey all, I was wondering if anyone out there knows which is a better replacement shaft for the Sicce PSK-2500 pump; the ceramic one or the carbon fiber one? http://www.marinesolutionsinc.com/catalog/p145/Replacement-Ceramic-Shaft-for-Sicce-PSK-2500-Pump/product_info.html or...

    RO/DI waste water?

Mine fills the washing machine most of the time; I also capture it in a bucket to wash the truck with, and water the plants in the summer.

which auto top off to buy?

http://www.fishbowl-innovations.com/product/levelController This is the setup that I've been using for several months now. I've had no problems with it. Very easy to set up.

    SaltyFish's New 90 Gallon

That's a sound aproach. Are you running that beckett skimmer on this tank?

    SaltyFish's New 90 Gallon

Looking pretty nice there! Are you going to stay with the minimalist aquascaping or add to it? I don't think that you're going to have to upgrade skimmers yet;)

    urgent question about dry rock!!!

Is the aquarium already stocked? If not, I'd leave it in there so that it can become colonized by bacteria and cure.

    yellow tail & blue damsels?

Yellow tailed damsels tend to be a lot less aggressive than the damsel norm. I've got one now, and had one in my last system and have never had any problems with them; in fact my experience has been that they have been amongst the best behaved fish in my systems. That's just my experience...

    ID Please

you can cut up chunks of silversides or shrimp to feed it. Big meaty treats once or twice a week. They tend to be night feeders, but will open up during the day if they smell food.

    RODI-Filterguys

I've too have had good experiences with TFG. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone that has a gripe with their customer service

    Help me ID this coral???

Rhizotrochus. I shot the pic over to the other board and got that answer. Googled the name and pics are dead on. People on the other board said it's pricey.
