what fish are safe with a Condlactis anemone

Condilactus is not a hosting species, because there are no clowns in the Caribbean/Atlantic where condilactus comes from. Not many clowns will accept them as a host, and if they do, there is a possibility that the condi will make a meal out of the clown

    merulina

We, the hobbyists, are the only people that classify them as SPS, or LPS. . For me, an "SPS" has to have a coralite for the Small Polyp. Merulina has no coralites. Its all a matter of opinion :)

    xenia are all dying

Did they test alkalinity for you? or just AMM/nitrite/nitrate? If so what were the numbers? actually what were all of the numbers. What might be "in check" for some, may not be OK for others.

    sps help

Any reason for running that skimmer for only 4 hours? I think that many people would consider that skimmer undersized for your system even running it 24/7. At 4 hours per day, its not really doing much for you at all. For the other 20 hours, you have water sitting in skimmer body getting...

    Advice for Bubbletip Anemone's

Odds of a BTA eating a tang are about 20-1. Of all of the hosting anemones, only S.hadoni is really known as a fish eater. Im not saying that it cant happen with other hosting anemones, but definitely not very common. There are a number of corals that will actually sting the BTA instead of the...

    Metal In Reef Tank???

I wouldnt add any metal to the tank on purpose, but I also wouldnt worry about a small washer. A little iron is good for the macro algaes :D, and once it rusts, it could be considered ferric oxide :D

    Stichodactyla Gigantea Anemones...recent happenings

Im not saying it doesnt happen, but I have yet to see a gigantea bury in the sand . Often at the sand/rock interface, but the foot is always attached to to a solid surface (rock). I have also seen a few that were actually up on the rocks. In fact, one of mine could be considered up on the...

    Stichodactyla Gigantea Anemones...recent happenings

Hi Nick, I cant really say. Call it luck, but I have never had any problems with either. I have had 100% success with every anemone that I have ever had come through here (not bragging , but just feeling lucky). My mag has only been around for about 2 years though. My purple gigantea for...

    Question about refugium

if you are setting up a refugium for its original intention to provide refuge for the micro fauna to (re)populate you tank, then I believe that you should provide a niche for all types of critters. I would use a little rubble/rock, some fine sand and a little macro algae If you are setting up...
