    Check this out. "Glofish"

I have two of them. They have very bright color under one 24w bulb. I believe they are genetically altered zebra fish, using genes from jelly fish or corals. I remember when they were first introduced people threw a fit about it. I heard that for a while, California would not allow retailers to...

    Subaru STI

Thats a bad azz little car. Pretty color too! I've only had the chance to drive one of those once, and they stick to the road like glue. The new fuel pump was an excelent choice for your car. I think the gold wheels make for a nice traditional touch as well.

    Hello, new to the board

Welcome. My sugestion to you is to read some of the newer salt books out there, and to talk as much as possible to the people who have been where your trying to go in this hobby. Also buying equipment used can save you a lot of cash if you know what you want. Best wishes!

Let's see some shot's through your tank length wise

Viewing tanks through the length, I believe, is the most popular way to view tanks in some cultures. I have yet to personally see a tank that has been specifically aquascaped for it though. Nice shots.

    RODI water...

Most reputable LFS can provide you with water. Get out the local phone book, and call around to the stores that are close to you. Brand new gas containers work well for transporting. Good luck!

Operation Young Reef, 16 year old's 75 Gallon Build Log

I would take care of it asap. Yes the shims will slide right under... though you will most likely need to lightly tap on them with a hammer or mallet.

Operation Young Reef, 16 year old's 75 Gallon Build Log

Shims are easy. If you dont have any, you can get a pack of them at the hardware store cheap. They are shaped like a small door wedge. Starting with the sharp end, insert under stand until you get the desired level. You may want to place a shim at each end as opposed one in the center. Check...

Operation Young Reef, 16 year old's 75 Gallon Build Log

Using a piece(s) of cardboard will crush under this kind of wieght. Wooden or composit shims are far more easy to get the level you want. If your questioning if the amount of out-of-level of the tank is bad... you probably know the answer.

Ben's (Class Clown) 240G Photo thread

Beautiful photography. The water must be crystal clear in the tank because the fish appear to be swimming in air. Wonderful specimens captured as well.

If the back of the tank is higher than the front, you may want to place some shims under the front of the tank stand.

    I want to buy a RO/DI unit

I belive most of the systems described here will all work great. The media inside is far more important.

    I am really bummed

LOL I'm glad for you that no one tried to steal your tank's virtue!

    RODI question

Using the DI gets most of the dissolved solids out of the source water that RO alone can not. Using more than one chamber or cartridge helps to ensure that the resin does not become totaly exausted. If you have two cartidges, the first will exaust faster than the second, so its kind of like...
