    Moving a 210g glass tank

I use the furnature dollies all the time. You can get them at Home depot for about $25. Each of the larger dollies are rated at 800 lbs and the smaller ones at 600lbs. I really don't know what I would do without them. (I have about a dozen of them). They are awesome for moving tanks into...

    Aquatraders SKIMMER anyone?

If you want to see a PS-160 in person I was just at Andy's store yesturday. QT's Tropical off of 4th and Jackson in Seattle. He's right next to Bank of America on Jackson. Andy has a large stock of Oddysea on hand. Skimmers, lights, filters, tanks, pumps, ect..

    Custom acrylic Tank

PM sent. If you do have an extra 6" or so I would also reccommend the external CTC. The slight up-charge is worth it. (around $50)

Well I am glad the sump worked out for you. I first built it as a refugium sump and then changed my mind on the set-up. So it has been sitting in the corner for many months. I'm glad it was a good fit for your application. :)

    Aquatraders SKIMMER anyone?

I have not ordered or used the PS160, but both Eric (Shark Reef) and I have used and sold the PS75 model. The newer ones are better than the old ones, but they are very, very cheap. Both in price and quality of materials and construction. Function wise they work very well but put a lot of...

    I'm going INSANE!!

I don't have the specific science on the reduction in flow but, the Durso does cut some flow. The 3/4" 90 also cuts some more. Have you tried taking out the durso and putting a lid over the overflow box? that may quiet things down enough without cutting down on flow. There are also two other...

    Pump question

No! They are very loud and run hot. Great pumps, all most bullet proof but loud. If quiet is your main concern, get an eheim.

    Jebo/Odyssa from Aquatraders

What parts? The ballasts really don't matter as long as they fit in the fixture. The rest of the parts would be pretty hard to find at a hardware store.

    Jebo/Odyssa from Aquatraders

Odyssea seems to fire XM bulbs pretty well. And as far as their skimmers go, they work really well but are built very cheap. No rough play or dropping allowed! If it breaks or cracks your pretty much screwed. I tried to fix one for Eric and the extruded tube is extra cheap and crappy. If...

 What's all that icky purple stuff all over the place? :p Like I said before this tank really has to be seen in person to get the full effect. Great tank Johnathan! (and the brew isn't too shabby either)

    sg way high HELP

Hydrometers are pretty accurate ( if they aren't full of bubbles or calcium build-up or anything else that screws them up) but can be accurately off. I have a Coral life one that is off by .004. It would be good to take it to a LFS and have them check it against their refractometer. If it is...

    I want your majanos

I have some I was just getting ready to whack. My Sister lives in your direction and I have to go to Reef Mystique soon, so I'll PM ya when I'm coming and see if we can hook up a pest drop.

    I am finally going BIG!!

that is the only problem with Dolphin pumps. Especially the older generation ones. The amp master motors are awesome. I was/ am the Pacific Northwest Dealer for Dolphin and the price tag of the new abrasive proof seal was a major sticking point with me and them. The new seal works great but...

Where do you guys get your co2 tanks filled?

Praxair - look in the yellow pages for welding supplies, I'm sure there is one close to you.

    ID on unknown pump

I would invest in either a Dolphin or a Sequence pump. Keep the other one for a clean freshwater application (ie. hot tub) or sell it on e-bay to some one out of state :p

    ID on unknown pump

It looks like a hot tub pump. The head looks too small to be a trash pump, but it could be that as well. The only problem (functionally) I can see with using it is that it most likely is a hot tub flow pump, they are not good with head pressures. The biggest problem would be the seal (IMO)...

    Pump just went out :(

If you get the Dolphin make sure it has the abrasive proof seal. The Ampmasters are great pump, very quiet, very efficient but the standard seals suck like nothing else.

    calling all pump experts

 Don't worry it will change soon. As far as I know you can throttle back any external pump on the output side. You won't have any problems with the PCX or the Little Giant, they are pressure pumps. Flow pumps can have a very large drop in preformance if you throttle them down however.
