    Good tip on the floaties, Bob. I also heard that soaking it in RO water supposedly draws out some of the phosphate in the carbon as well.

    I use a media bag that is used for carbon in some applications. You can usually find them hanging around next to the carbon at your local Pets Mart... Pretty cheap.

    Man you guy’s type fast! :) Jeff is asking you all the right questions. 4-10k’s are going to be pretty white though. You might want to supplement with some actinic’s for eye appeal. But don’t count them in as total watt’s needed in a daylight spectrum.

    I’m a bit confused. Are you adding up the Kelvin degree’s of each individual bulb or is this actually one bulb at 40,000 k? I’ve never heard of one before.

    I’m guessing that’s the Italian rendition of calamari (sp?) compared to here in the states. I had a similar experience in Germany many years ago when I ordered what I thought was going to be a pepperoni pizza. Instead I got a pizza covered with pepperacini peppers. Good thing I like hot peppers!

    You’re bound to run into problems trying to match flows between the two pumps. What if one pump stopped working for some odd reason? Remember, Murphy’s Law... If it can happen there’s a chance that it eventually will.
