    Hurricane...OUCH..

yes thats terrible. First they got hit by two in the last couple of weeks or so and now there is another one possibly headed that way! Thats pretty brutal!!! Hopefully the damage in minimized and they can recover and rebuild quickly. What a bummer!

    HELP! Red cyano bacteria

In my Humble Opinion....That glue is the BOMB! I am sure there is something comparable out there and posibly cheaper but that glue just rocks! Here is why I like it so much... Its in a gel format which is great when glueing corals and it runs all over the place so much less that standard...

    HELP! Red cyano bacteria

Oh dont you know it (I hear a lot of people bash their Grunge as beeing too expensive and over rated)! I couldnt imagine a tank with out a couple of pounds to give things a booster shot in the arm. That Grunge Lite is awesome in a refugium too!!! They do have some neat species and morphs of...

    HELP! Red cyano bacteria

Angelscrx Thats exactly how I got my first corals. Those frags are really small if you have not ordered them but considering how cheap they are you just cant beat them. Its perfect for setting up a nano!!! You get some nice things too. If you dont have a membership with them you might want...

    HELP! Red cyano bacteria

I know what you mean about GARF. They have been a big influence for me. If I could only count the hours I have spent on that site soaking up info. What I like best is that they are pretty much old school when it comes to reef keeping. They stick with the basics and squeeze the most out of...

Top Ten Lies You've Told to Your Significant Other About Your Tank...

I hear you on that one Fly n Reef. Angelscrx, thats would sound kinda funny huh? I bet the look on the facial expression on the counselors face would be a kodak moment for sure!

    HELP! Red cyano bacteria

GARF is definitely too cool and sure enough they will taylor a package to your needs but they are much more costly In your case as a minimum, I would order 24 micro hermits, 12 certh, 12 nassarious and at least 24 Asteria snails. I usually order a tad more quanity wise so if I lose a couple...

    HELP! Red cyano bacteria

Well I whole heartedly recommend ReefTopia. There might be someplace cheaper but I havent forund them yet. They have excellent price breaks for quanities as well as each and anything over $120 is free shipping. I have ordered well over a 1000 individual snails or hermits from them in three...

    HELP! Red cyano bacteria

To my knowledge and I am not expert but I dont think there is anything that will consume this stuff perse`. What Nassarious and Cerith Snails will do for you though is stir the top layer of your sand bed if its not crushed coral and remove a lot of the crude that settles into your sand bed and...

    HELP! Red cyano bacteria

NaH2O is right! The bottom line is something is fueling this. No doubt about it. Chemi-Clean is great but its just a band-aid on a cut throat and a temp fix at best. Like NaH20 said, siphon or scoop as much up as possible. Check water for Phosphates and such and if you get a reading deal...

    Tri color turned brown?

Humm, mine that I got from E-Tropicals (wasnt much of a tri-color when it arrived) and hasnt improved much since getting it a month ago. So I am feeling you on this one. Not sure I got an answer for you though.....I will be tagging along on this one for sure.

    bio flow rotating output device

Bummer dude, hope it works out for you. But at a whole 12 bucks it still aint too much of a lose if they dont. I think I finally found my solution though. Its not that cheap unfortunately, but I think I am going with Ocean Motions 8 way valve on my big tank and the 3 way on the 135...

Top Ten Lies You've Told to Your Significant Other About Your Tank...

I am hearing you on that one Fly N Reef & wrightme43, but every rose has its thorn. I mean who's gonna keep me under control?! I wonder if there is a Fish-A-Holics annonymoius, I mean they have this for Gamblers Drinkers and Smokers..... In all seriousness guys, thats too funny though! I...

ora farms & C-quest, domestic bred fish source

I dont think ORA is gone. C-quest might very well have sustained serious damage with the recent hurricanes that have passed through that area. I havent hit thier site since my last computer crash so they are no longer on my favorites list. Dont know if ORA suffered in that as well, as it...

    Please ID this Coral.

Yeah The green one is Hynopora Rigida. It does have a very potent sting, luckily the sweepers are only about a 1/2 inch or so long. Its a very easy to care for coral and will grow fairly fast for "hard" corals. The skin covering it is very thin and very delicate and easily damaged. It is...

    The building of the beast.

That was so awesome! Good documentation of the evolution as well. Its good to see I am not the only one using the rubermaide poly tanks either! Again, what an impressive display you have!!!

    Getting rid of the snowstorm

More of the right type flow would help keep it suspended long enough for your filter system to get more of it out of the tank. My 135 has only 5 small fish and about 35 coral colonies and I still get a good bit considering the amount of flow I have and how skimpy I am on divying out the fish...

    Best LFS in Seattle area

I am not sure about transportation to Blue Sierra unless you drive it which is actually not a bad drive at all. I am from Japan and had no problem driving there and finding it! I hit that place everytime I am in town for a look. But it is usually worth the drive, especially after a new...

    Best LFS in Seattle area

Under the Sea in Mt Vernon and Blue Sierra in Issaquah would by my two choices. Under the sea just relocated and is small but prices are low enough to make you like a kid in a candy store. Blue Sierra has some decent prices and nice stock if you catch them shortly after a shipment for the best...
