The Plumbing and Water flow Workshop

Hmmm maybe I should think a bit more... when I add the second pump if I "cut the manifold in half" then I'm halfing the linear ft so theoretically I might would get close to 400 gph from 8 nozzels per manifold as oppsosed to 120 from 15. That would put it in the right range....and have 16...

The Plumbing and Water flow Workshop

Sequence has said that they perform better when under pressure, but they do not say that on their documentation. I just did some testing of the manifold.... and it sucks... I thought the flow felt pretty good, I am loseing soooo much flow from this pump. I've got to find a better way other than...

The Plumbing and Water flow Workshop

The current incarnation of the manifold is 1.5" from the sequence to the top of the tank. Then, it reduces to 1" for the perimter of the tank with the T pieces of the manifold reducing to a mix of 1/2 and 3/4 loc-line. The manifold is top flow only, I guess and the only flow that reaches the...

The Plumbing and Water flow Workshop

I'll have to do a sketch of the spray bar.... but here is the pump side of the manifold: I apologize up front for the quality of the manifold pic. You can't see the nozzels on the front, but the nozzels on the front are simply under the rim and there are 5 of them evenly spaced. There are...

The Plumbing and Water flow Workshop

Mike - I also have a an AGA 180 - it's the "mega overflow" version not the overflow in the corners. I have 4 - 1" holes drilled in the back about 6 inches below the tank bracing/trim. They are fairly evenly spaced accross the back. For the flow I want to be able to have my cake and eat it...

    What Creates Your Flow?

Primary circulation is a Sequence Hammerhead pushing a 12 nozzle manifold - I need to add a second Sequence Hammerhead to push a second 12 nozzle manifold. The manifold itself is 1"pvc reducing to a combination of 3/4" and 1/2" loc-line. Feeds for the Sequence pumps are 4 1" bulkheads on the...

    Ozone alters Skimmate???

that's pretty much what I expected.... won't know until I try it. I've got a few other tank projects that I need desperately to complete before I can think about ozone. I was just very curious since my friend had made the skmmate comment.... Thank you all very much for all the information -...

    Ozone alters Skimmate???

ahh misunderstanding .... the 8-10 or 32 oz depending on dry vs wet ---- is a measurement of skimmate output of my skimmers..... I'm trying to extrapolate out to my current skimmers - if I chose to start to run ozone how much will the addition of .3 to .5 mg/gal will impact my skim production...

    Ozone alters Skimmate???

oh those oz measurements were per day... 8-10 per day or 32 per day depending on dry vs wet settings....

    Ozone alters Skimmate???

thanks for the PAC idea.... i think I'll stick with the 'zone. :D Seriously though thanks guys for the ideas, knowldege and observations. I think that I am understanding ozone and skimming a bit more. The atomizer looks very interesting but possibly difficult to implemnet in most...

    Ozone alters Skimmate???

OK -- So In theory Mike I was right about the efficiency I was just sort of wrong in the practical appliacation. In that it is possible to "see" cleaner looking skimmate since you do have less organics to extract out. That actually makes sence --- now for Boomer - if I understand in theory what...

    Ozone alters Skimmate???

Hey folks... I read this site a lot and have learned more here than possibly any other board. Really! I'm not just saying that cause I want you to answer a question! :) This is a goofy one and I am probably not thinking clearly today.. So I apologize up front. A friend of mine made the comment...
