    Need help with Chiller Info

The short answer to your question is that the chiller brings down the temp of the tank and that energy and heat gets spilled over into the room the chiller is in. Some people create ventilation or run the chiller outside. I personally have a fan that is in the same corner as the chiller and it...

    already having heat issues....

a little fan will be less electricity than having your chiller cycle a few extra times per day. i would run the fun/ventilate even when you get the chiller moved over. Hell, I just added a 3rd fan to my canopy to try and reduce how often my chiller is on. Mat

Treated for red bugs last night

So treated last night for red bugs with the interceptor treatment last night. Followed the instructions, Jeff (Flugleness) was kind enough to help out and so far so good. Dosed at 6:30pm, 20% water change at 1:30am and my cleaner shrimp and snails all look okay. Dosing quite a bit of carbon...

    Tank in Garage???

The one thing to consider in any fish room, but esp the garage is the corrosive effects of the water evaporation. It may be beneficial to frame off an area of the garage with access to vent outside rather than just having the remainder of the equipment being in the garage. You would really be...

    My new 120 upgrade

sorry Matt, missed your reply. My tank is 60" and I have 3 pendants. They are (1) directly in the center 30" from either edge and then the other 2 are 16" in from the edges. So 16" to bulb #1, 14" to bulb #2 (center), 14" to bulb #3 and then 16" to the other edge. They are pretty well spread...

    New 180 Comming :-)

Those snails are so sweet. I had about 20 in my 170gal and after about 4 months there were 50-100 additional tiny babies. Darwin has stepped in and there are many less now, but they are a great little snail. Mat

    Anyone want to help me?

Good focused answers to a bunch of good questions. Help us out by telling us the dimensions of the tank (inches please) and give us an idea of what you would like to keep (Fish only, fish plus soft corals, fish plus hard corals and clams). Mat

    VHO vs PC

I agree with Krish. If you are going to set up lights from scratch and want flexibility, then I would go with a 250w MH setup. Depending on the dimensions and your reflector you would only need 1 or 2 bulbs. If you are sold on not doing MH, then i would recommend VHO. I just think they give...
