    Flat worm help, please!

I used to have a diamond goby, that helped keep my substrate clean, but unfortunately I believe he ended up a snack for my carpet anemone. After his demise, I started noticing the increase in the population of flat worms. I'm not ready to use "Flatworm Exit" yet, and I was wondering if anyone...

used tank w/ sand still in it

The sand is salvageable but you do need to be carefull with it. It "does" have alot of dead stuff and probably some live stuff still living in it. If you do decide to use the sand again, it needs to be thouroghly cleaned so no dead or living organisms remain. Or if you have the extra money...

    What a horrible practice!!!

OMG! I could only watch about 5 min. of the fur video. I am a very unemotional person (according to my wife) and this was so horrific that I couldn't bear to watch it anymore. It is so sad to think that things like this still go on in this world.

    Setting up a fish breedery

I didn't have the power head on all the time, only during daytime hours before any of the fry have hatched (but not the first day). Thanks clownfish152089 for the video, I'm still learning so every bit of information helps. I will succeed - one of these days!

    Setting up a fish breedery

Ok, I'm on the next batch now. Yes seperate 10g tank, no skimmer. Only have a heater, air pump, and a small power head in there. I only turn the power head on during the daytime before any fry have hatched. So here's my dilemna now, I put the current batch in my fry tank about 2 days ago...

    New Tank

Don't rush, take it slow, yes let your tank cycle. Take one step at a time, and fully research each step prior to taking it. Good luck and welcome to RF!!

    Setting up a fish breedery

Funny that you mention this! I just recently (tried) to start raising my clownfish eggs. I got the setup, 10gallon, airpump, heater, all with water from my main tank, and put the tile with eggs on it into the tank. Out of the maybe 80 eggs that were laid I could only count about 12 fry that...

Green clown goby, white spots (Lymphocystis)

If the fish was purchased recently, I would suspect ick first. Please do some research, there are lots of pictures of what ick looks like on the web. First confirm what it is, then research the proper and most worthwhile treatment for you. Good luck!

Should I put sand in my fuge?

The reason that I put a DSB in my sump was to help control ph, and to help minimize the ph swing from lights on to lights off. But agree with many other opinions on here, whether to have one or not is a personal preference, to help obtain your end goals. Good luck with your decision.

    Pregnant Cleaner Shrimp?

I had peppermint shrimp that had eggs, one night after my lights were out, I saw the fish going crazy. I shined my flashlight into the water and saw a bunch of translucent baby shrimp swimming around. My fish ate good that night.

    HELP anenome closed UP????

I have a carpet that's about 10" across when he's fully opened and sometimes he'll shrink up too, I still get freaked out and start counting fish to make sure he hasn't gotten an impromptu (sp?) snack!

    75 gallon bio load

I don't think that it's too much to add. As long as you keep up with your regular maintenance, ie cleaning, vacuuming, and water changes.

    My lovely (expensive) Day

If your sick of doing the drywall, I could probably make some time to do it, for a reasonable fee. Let me know.

    Digital 24h timer

I sort of cheated, I got the regular dial timer, and just put a 3way on it. It controls my halides and the fans to cool them.

    Calfo overflow?

I looked it up and was intrigued by the concept. But a couple things posed concern to me. For me, it would have to go coast to coast (all the way across the back), because if it only went for a portion of the back of your tank, there would be dead spots on each side where there was little to...

    lighting for a refugium?

To answer part of your question, the light only needs to be over the part of the refugium that is housing your "algae", such as calerpa sp?, you don't have to have lighting over your other compartments.
