    Suicide Pact?

I use a plastic Mesh that is found at most craft stores. It runs $1 for a sq. foot. Sturdy enough to withstand any flow and big enough holes to only keep out the larger objects like fish and snails.

    Firefox

I've been using Firefox/Firebird for almost a year now. My only issues with it is that I can't put in a local drive in the address bar. I got used to being able to switch from web sites to a file browser just by typing in c:\ into the address. Other than that I am ardent Firefox supporter...

    Pictures terrible

I use the auto-white balance by calibrating it to my sand. It tends to keep the colors nice and bright but without the blue hue. I've also found that for just about every picture of the tank I need the macro mode on. I never use a flash but I do use a tripod to make up for the slower shutter...

    Sex a Foxface One Spot

I've searched the web for any clue to the gender of my One Spot. Does anyone know the trick? Thanks for the help!

    Hey! The macro setting works!

Its a Nikon 775. Its 3 years old but still going strong. No editing done except resizing and a "Measure White Balance" function done on the camera itself. While I enjoy the actinic look in person I don't like the hue in my pictures.

    Hey! The macro setting works!

This is the pickiest eater in the tank. It doesnt like silversides but enriched brine shrimp is a favorite if its in small enough pieces. This xenia managed to get stuck to the hermit crab and has been taking a tour of the tank ever since. It shriveled up the first few days but now it seems...

    Tank too hot

My tank runs about 25-26 also this summer. I've removed the heaters (They were acting up). I ran a small clip on fan across the top of the tank until I had time to install smaller quiet computer fans in my hood. My powerheads (4x1200 Gen-X) seem to heat the water quite a bit as well as the...

    ID this crab?

I had some snails wind up dead near the entrance to a particular hole. After an hour of moving rock to reach the particular rock and getting it out of the tank I found the female crab in that hole. I figured she was the cause of the snail deaths. I found him a week afer. There are a few more...

    ID this crab?

I had tried to catch him with a net, an inverted bottle (Before I knew exactly how big he was) and with my barehands. One day I found him on an easy to remove rock so the whole thing came out. His pincers have round plates on the end to pinch together, there are no sharp bits on them either...

    ID this crab?

This crab came on some live rock from the keys. He's huge, almost a full inch across the shell. He hid for almost 2 months before we found him. Is he safe? I pulled him out and stuck him in a sump. Lots to eat there and no one he can bother.

    New Reefer in the making

I want it to be a reef tank, but I believe that I need better lights instead of my VHOs. I places the lights as far apart as I could so that I would have room in the future for PC lighting. For now its going to be a low light reef. Im finishing up the moonlights right now. We mounted the...

    New Reefer in the making

I bought the acrylic at Port Plastics. Cell cast 1/2" is $179 a sheet. I had Port Plastics cut the sheet for me. Everything else is from Rockler Woodworking in Tukwila. My roomate and I built it in a friends backyard shop. He has way too much room and I had free access to all of his tools...

    New Reefer in the making

I've kept freshwater fish in the past but not as a serious hobby. I thought I would post here and join the Puget Sound reefing community, who knows when i'll need advice. So the story goes, my roomate and I are sitting around wondering what to put on a half-wall we have in our apartment. I say...
