    Bio Cube home make over

I did go through a mini cycle. I'm also having a small problem. I'm not getting the water to return back into the rear chambers like I'd like, so I've knocked a couple of teeth out of the return grill to let water flow better. That's helped a bunch. I ordered two 3/4" bulkheads & some loc-line...

What anemones do you have and how long have you kept them?

I have several RBTA's (it just keeps splitting, it's split 7 times in 3 years) I currently have 5 RBTA's (time to thin the heard & do some frag swapping) and one Purple Corkscrew that's close to the size of a dinner plate.

    Post your best lies!

I'm lucky in several ways. My wife likes the 2 tanks, she never sees the credit card statement, I'm home from work first so I can snag the BRS boxes before she sees them & she does a decent job buying exercise clothes.

    Chaeto

Thanks Krish, I was always under the assumption it needed to be tumbling to be effective. That's what I get for thinking again!

    Chaeto

I'm new to the world of sumps & chaeto. I put a fist sized clump in my sump & it just sank to the bottom & sat on the sand. I assume this is not the way it should be correct? I then added a K-nano powerhead to the return section. It got it floating but not tumbling (it snags on the filter sock &...

    Bio Cube home make over

Ya it was just an old sheet of acrylic I had lying around & I used silicon caulking as an adhesive.

    Bio Cube home make over

I took my BC29 & tore it down & re did it. It was getting overgrown. I don't have any tank before & after shots but I have after pics of the sump setup. I had a local reef club member build me a sump (beautiful job, hated to hide it!) then I drilled the back for a 3/4" bulkhead & made a external...

    Live rock rubble in fuge

Mostly for copipods and amphipods to breed. I have about 30lbs of rock in the display. P.S. I will have live sand in fuge compartment also.

    Live rock rubble in fuge

I'm putting a sump on my BC29 & the refugium compartment is 15" x 9" how much rock rubble do I need?

    Glass Drilling?

Glass Holes fan here also. I used the 700gpm on my 40B also. They have great customer service & fast shipping also. I just ordered a saw & 1" bulkhead to drill my Bio Cube. I ordered it on a Saturday & Monday it was here!

    Sand Question

    It's not deep at all.

    Sand Question

Wow. I need to start proof reading! I confused myself there. Yes, I'm thinking of using the same sand, same tank. What I'm going to do is break it down & drill the back for a 1" bulkhead.

    Sand Question

I'm going to do a remodel (add a sump, re aquascape etc.) on my 29gal Bio Cube. I read on Melvs reef about rinsing your sand (Melevsreef.com - Rinsing Sand) am I better of doing that or just getting new live sand? I don't want to start a cycle. When I moved my 40 to my 40B I got new sand & did...

    Overflow box question

I'm going to drill the back of my 29 gal Bio Cube & put a 1" bulkhead to go to my sump I'm adding. My question is.....Do you think I need an overflow box or is the center chamber just in essence one huge overflow box?

I assume he's not a member of PNWMAS but we have a "tanks for teachers" program that he may want to check into? Tanks for Teachers

    Will this cause a cycle?

Mike, The sand bed is only about 1" deep so there would only be about maybe 2" of water in a 29 gal Bio Cube. I'm planning on leaving it on the stand & just moving the stand around to get to the back of it & hopefully it will only be an hour or less? Mike

    Will this cause a cycle?

I have a 29 gal Bio Cube that has been up for 3 yrs. I want to drill the back for bulkheads & add a sump (I don't want to do a HOB) here's my thoughts. Take the 3 fish, 1 shrimp & some rock & put in my Q/T tank. Put the remaining rock & coral in buckets with a heater & powerhead, drain the water...

Anyone see the teaser for Tanked on Animal Planet?

Here's a link to Marine Geek's web site. They talked to one of the guys from the show, reaffirmed what I think most of us assumed. Marine Geek - Interview with Brett from Animal Planet's new hit show TANKED

    Bio Cube Question

I thought the back was plastic, now that I just checked I think it may be glass which presents a whole new set of problems as this tank is set up & has been running for 2 years. I was just hoping to lower the water level, have a shop vac on each side to suck up any debris before it hit the water...

    Bio Cube Question

I'm going to add a sump to my BC 29. I want to drill the rear & put in 2 bulkheads (1 drain 1 return) I'm thinking that since the back is not super strong I would get a piece of either acrylic or Plexiglas attach it to the outside of the rear wall to reinforce it. I would assume seeing as it's...
