    Seachem reef adv. calcium drip....alkalinity?

Thanks for the reply. A quick question regarding baking soda. If I were to only dose (not drip) baking soda in a smaller tank such as mine which has about 20 gallons total volume, would it be advantageous to add baking soda that has not been baked. I noticed that non baked baking soda will have...

    Seachem reef adv. calcium drip....alkalinity?

The problem is I only have a 10gal with a 10gal sump. That and I'm on a budget. I haven't looked into nano sized calcium reactors but last time I looked (a couple years ago) there weren't many out there and their prices were a bit too high. Maybe I'll do some searching. Thanks

    Seachem reef adv. calcium drip....alkalinity?

Yeah, I'm thinking I'll just have to use the topoff for plain RO and dose calcium using the reef advantage calcium and baking soda for alkalinity. I was just hoping I wouldn't be at the point again where I try not going away for even a day because I don't want to miss dosing :(. Well, it is what...

    Seachem reef adv. calcium drip....alkalinity?

Hi everyone, I finally got a drip system setup for my nano. It will eventually be an auto top off system once I get my float valve installed. I was planning on using kalk and dripping at night, but on a whim I decide to try out the Seachem reef adv. calcium. I liked the fact that it dissolved...

Thanks for the kind words everyone. This week I'll have some new coral additions to post some photos of. Aaron

    My new 10gal

And finally last week I got my last 2 fish. A firefish and a masked goby. I know most are thinking that the tank is overstocked but with my refugium and skimmer, I should be fine. I've run a similar bioload in the past in a similar setup, though I know every tank is different. Anyhow, here are...

    My new 10gal

The first fish I got were 2 neon gobies. I tried to get 2 who were paired up, and although they liked to hang around each other at the store...they can now only tolerate the others presence. I assumed they were tank bred...but you know what assuming does. They didn't take to frozen food very...

    My new 10gal

Its been a while since I hung around here on a regular basis. Well, I finally got a tank up and running again. Its been almost 2.5 years since I got rid of my last tank while I spent 5 months in Australia (GBR is arguably a little better ). After that I was finishing up college at UW, which...

    Frag packs

I wasn't sure where to post this as I didn't see a forum for the online site I had a question with. I'm specifically wondering if anyone has purchased a frag pack from reefermadness lately? I know they have had a change of ownership in the last 6 months or something. Post ownership change I've...

    Let's See Some Macros

Well not the closest macros in the world but they're ok. Took these this weekend at Weeler reef on the outer GBR. This was my first time using my underwater housing so there is room for improvement. Pics are as follows Pic 1 Platygyra brain Pic 2 Cucumber close up Pic 3 Montipora sp. Pic 4...

    Coral ID site?

Its been a whlie since I've posted but currently I'm studying here in Townsville queensland for a good 5 months and I don't have an aquarium here. Anyway, onto the question, I swear I've seen this site before but my search has come up empty so I thought I'd ask. I've seen online pictures that...

    ID needed

Looks like a type of a cleaner clam or oyster to me.

    What's in a name???

Not to butt in but Indoor Reef in Tacoma gets them in very frequently. You might want to check there if you're looking. Calling first is always best. :) Aaron

    U-district fish store

He must have just had stuff to do cause I got there 15min after he should open and then I stopped by again around 4pm. No worries, I'll try tomorrow.

    U-district fish store

Well a couple weeks back I stopped by the fish store and all the things said above were pretty much true. Tanks were pretty unimpressive. I asked about a gorgonian which had half the tissue left on it to see if I could just get a frag. He said no, and the whole thing was 39.99. I then asked well...

    Great reading at National Geo

I read the article in National Geographic the other day. Anytime a national geographic has anything about fish or reefs its always one of my favorite issues. The movie was cool. There were some pictures I didn't see in the magazine.

    Purple Ribbon Gorg. shedding

I quickly glanced at the thread a while back but I'll take a closer look. I was searching for something else at the time and if I remember right it had a really high number of posts so I didn't feel like sorting through. Thanks for info. Aaron

    Purple Ribbon Gorg. shedding

Yeah, a small closed loop would be awesome but its a glass tank without much space behind and no space below. I might try and add another small powerhead, maybe like a rio 50 or something. Thanks Aaron

    Purple Ribbon Gorg. shedding

Anthony I also have another question for you. I have a couple dead spots in the tank. Every couple days I've been blowing this off with a syring not just in an attempt to ged rid of the detritus but also because I've red that filter feeding corals such as Scleronepthya sp. can actually ingest...
