    co2 problem lingers

I am going to be the last person to go up against Anthony, and maybe he will remember me from his trip to Sacramento, but I would say give it some time. You did not mention what the pH dropped to, but remember the any dramatic pH drop is a huge shock to your aquarium. The red slim is due to...

    Different brands of salt

Well, my Salifert kh test came out at 7.6. I know that is a bit low from the 8.0 of NSW, but I expected it to be low because of the pure H2O I use in the first place. So I am still sticking with Oceanic. I have a 60 gallon experiment tank that is either covered with green star polyp or hair...

    Different brands of salt

I too have read all the threads on problems with Oceanic Salt and can't say I share their problems. I have used Oceanic Salt since before it was available to the general public and have it in over 2 dozen systems without issue. I must say that I only mix it according to Oceanics mix...

    Calcium Reactor Question!

before you buy, may I suggest you look at the Deltec Calcium Reactors. Having setup a large number of these reactors, I have found them to be well worth the money. They are easy to setup and adjust. None of them really need a pH monitor to work well. I am not a big fan of electronics and...

    Aqua UV Set up

one thing to remember about these sterilizers, if for some reason the water flow stops flowing through the unit and the light does not go off, the unit needs to stay filled with water. The water acts as a coolant for the lamp. If the unit drains and the lamp stays on, it could possibly damage...

I am not sure what you are asking. Do you want to use it with a phosphate reducer or do you just want to know if they can be used?

    Pump Recommendation

Sequence is an up and coming star with their new expanded line of aquarium pumps. I know of several in operation and the owners love them. I also know of Iwaki pumps that have been running for 12 years.

    Copepods

I just want to add a plug for Ocean Pods. I have delt with Adelaide and she is a great lady. Her product is a great booster to any systems. I recommend to my clients to add copepods every 3 months. It's a natural way to keep your aquarium health.

Do You Drink the RO DI water

Steve, thats the only argument that holds any water, LOL, when it comes to RO/DI and which one gets the water first. What does not pass through the RO, get caught by the DI. All the stuff that can't pass through the RO goes down the drain. I just think it's going to blowout the RO way before...

Do You Drink the RO DI water

This is a topic I have had very long discussions about as to which comes first, RO or DI. Let me start off by saying I get my aquarium water from a store that sells water. They have a 12 stage filtering process which produces just about pure H2O. The guy that owns the store is a health nut as...

    Phospate/Carbon Reactor Question

One note on rinsing ROWAphos. If using it in a filter bag, dip the bag filled with ROWAphos in a bucket with about a gallon of RO water, like a tea bag. This will rinse the fines away and you will be good to go. If using ROWAphos in a reactor, like the Deltec FR-509, fill it half way, which...
