    Calcium reactor help

Reedman, I'm using a aqualifter micro pump to feed water to my reactor. I did'nt want to take a chance of loosing the siphon when using gravity feed technique. Korallin says you can gravity feed but recommends using a small pump. On my Korallin I am only dripping 40 drips per minute on 50...

    Calcium reactor help

DIY can be fun but I would keep a eye out for a good used one. I like the German manufacturers. I bet if your not in a hurry you might be able to find one for pretty close to what you would spend in acrylic, recirculating pump and fittings, etc.

    Help with dursos

sorry I was'nt of any help I usually like to use flex hose for my drains. I have used hard lines in the past but I have always used 45's instead of 90's just becouse I felt they would drain more freely. Take Care,

    Help with dursos

Don't know if I'm much help but does the top of the standpipe have a breather. I would think the tube would have to bring in air to drain right. Do you have any 90 elbows on the drains that could be restricting flow? Are the drains directed into the sump above or below water level? If it is...

    Help choosing a fish

Reefaddict, That's kind of what I'm worried about w/ a dwarf Angel but I hear plenty not having a problem either. I think I am going to give up on the thought of a six line wrasse due to them being somewhat aggressive. I don't really want to worry about conflict as that seems to lead to stress...

    Help choosing a fish

Hi All, I am setting up a 58gal soon and I was wondering if anybody could help in choosing a fish or two. I currently have a 30 cube mainly sps w/ a couple lps. MH upgrade help needed

I'd go w/ the electronic ballasts. You can run any kind of bulb out there. And you can also run DE (HQI) bulbs as well as the SE(mogul socket) type bulbs. You will have to check if all electronic ballasts do that but I know the new Coralvue ballasts will run both. Here's a link for a good...

    skimmers

I think my next skimmer will be a Euro-Reef. Does a great job of skimming w/out having to have huge power hungry pump. Plus they will customize. See Ya

    New Percs

Nice find. They look very healthy. I got a pair from RM about a year ago. I love my pair they are a very personable fish. Don't know if you interested but I just had my BTA split. BTA's are not to be the anemone of choice fer this clown but after maybe 3 months of acting like they did'nt even...

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone here has done any research into this type of filtration. Sounds very interesting but I don't think there is any distributers here in the US yet. Here is a link to their site http://www.korallen-zucht.de/farben.html. Thanks all just wondering what you think...

    Need some input

I think the content and look of the site is great I just think it needs a little more traffic. I just think it's always nice to see plenty of feedback on the threads. Pretty sure this will come in time as more people find out about this site. I might be part of the minority but I also like that...

    filter finally arrived-need help

Kathy, I still would'nt use the bio balls. The rock should be fine. Also keep the skimmer clean to keep it running at it's peak efficiency. See Ya, Chad One other thing I dont know how this is configured but maybe there could be a chance of useing the area where the bio-balls would...

    filter finally arrived-need help

Not familiar w/ the filter but I would not use the bio-balls. The rock has far more surface area for the bacteria to colonize. See Ya, Chad

    Curing LR

As everyonelse has said i would not add any supplements. probably would'nt worry to much about the carbon either. Personally I always cure my rock in a seperate container maybe a spare smaller sized tank. I do this becouse during the curing process you will get alot of detritus off the rock...

di'nt take the time to look here but on Reef Centrals home page you can go to the head loss calculator and figure out what your pump will do. It's pretty cool just enter vertical rise and horizontal run plus pipe dia. and any elbows and so forth and it does all the calculations. i think it's a...

    What is the Best Clownfish???

i like my true percs but there is not alot of contast from your ocellaris. I've had melanopus(not sure if spelled right0 in the past and they are really pretty but tend to be on the aggressive side. i think aggression has alot to do w/ tankmates, tank size,if there is a mate present. I assume the...
