I shall make a 125 gallon reef for the next 4-5 months!!!;) .Can anyone convince me not to employ a Plenum system throughout my entire tank's bottom!!!!!!!!!I heard B.Goemans convert at least the 2/3rds of the entire surface of the tank as a plenum space:eek: .I don't have this space in the sump...
LR is our bioload and filtration unit together! We don't boil LR....We just put a flow around the rock and make waves with hand once a wail.....That is my opinion, allright!
I can see some other zoos between them,on yellow-gray color that seem to gain room vrs the red ones!!!!What can I do to keep the red zoos intact?Should I take them one by one out of the zoo colony?
I took some zoos, two weeks ago,and they seem to have been growing already:) .I have them under 64 watt PC lambs 50/50 .They all expand fully.!What is the grow rate of these creatures?
I don't intend to to have the same results with a CR,but to boost the top off water a bit so I do not spent so much money with supplements, and also to have a better ballance to Ca and alk.Don't the CO2 and the kalkwasser react, form CaCO3 and begin precipitating effects to the water?
Craig Bingman suggests that CO2 with kalkwasser will increase the calcium input to the system.Doesn't the CaCO3 that forms be a threat of begining precipitation though marine snowing effect?
What can happen wrong if I place CR media to an internal or canister filter and place it ot my RO top off canister with DIY yeast reactor through an airstone?
The kalkwasser will influence many things
It will raise the ph topically so a low scale calcium precipitation will occure!
It will precipitate PO4 on the rocks and substrate!
It will hurt live organisms if dropped accidentally on the!
It will raise the ph to dangerous levels, if overdosed of...
I think that the washing you did to the substrate this way will benefit your system.Seak not to cover the rock with the sand !Place the rock over it with pvc plumbing.......This will keep the sand a bit cleaner if you have the wright water movement !
Seachem's sea salt was the one I used in my 25 gallon reef, but I had minor events of precipitation of calcium due to the high ph (8,7-8,8) of the fresh made saltwater.I use RO and I did 20% water changes .Now I use tropic marin.
As I said I've seen sps growing prety good under PC's with 2 clams accompanied !The only problem is that the corals didn't show any colors from the begining .That means that either the didn't have colors ,or the PCs could not help them synthesize !
It is true though that PC's generate a lot of...
Many people in Greece use T5 bulbs and seem to enjoy it .Also many use PCs and have also good results with sps,lps and softies. The matter is about height I think ,if the tank is too deep you maybe have problems.
Mushrooms are hard to grow under strong light.keep them in shadows ;) .
Something else:hermits and snails don't coexist peacefully in a tank!Hermits love to kill snails to take their shells as homes!
I use R/O but my tap water doesn't have any phosphates ,too !!
