    waaaay too much salt

    basically, when mixing too much too quickly the essential minerals precip out... i would think you should be just fine diluting it back down to the proper salinity for a FOWLR tank since the fish dont care about calcium, mag, etc. like corals do

    clam fell from rock, left muscle foot

    ive always found in my experience that if the foot goes, the rest of the clam dies... keep a very close eye on it over the coming days... if it becomes a buffet for your crabs, snails, shrimp, etc.... pull it... good luck

    Raising Salinity

    i always raise salinity using normal evaporation and topping off with mixed saltwater matched to the current salinity level at the time of top off... seems the most gradual to me

    i dont honestly remember but i think it is the CaribSea Tahitian Moon... my lfs had some left over from placing it in his clownfish breeding tanks... i dont need aragonite buffering so much with only 5g water volume since i do more frequent water changes

    kent nautilus skimmer question

    pics of the skimmer in operation... note the bubble level in the up-tube... i put a valve on the pump to slow the mixture coming in after these pics... seems to be working so far.... time will tell

    lots of bubbles in the reaction chamber... ill have to measure water depth in that section of my sump.. cant remember off hand... it looks like it will do a pretty good job if i can just get the water level down so that the foam dries up a little
