To clean or not and best way?

Welcome to RF Divealso! If it's a DSB (deep sand bed) you're not supposed to clean it. If it's a shallow (eye candy) sand bed, you can use a gravel vac to clean it, pulling out the water that you replace in your water changes. Manually removing the biopsis infested sand is the best method to get...

    Any ideas??

+1 It doesn't look anything like my Turbinaria, but after I googled it, I saw some pics that are pretty much spot on with what yours looks like.

    Catching a cleaner shrimp

+1 on what Adam said. I've caught all sorts of pesty buggers over the years using that method. It doesn't have to be acrylic, a glass out of the cupboard will work.

    Closed Loop question

I agree with both the above (based on experience). That setup will give pretty whimpy flow out of each bulkhead. If anything, with that pump, I'd go with just two bulkheads on the CL and supplement that with a K2, or K3.

    Hungry Crabs

No, it does not kill off the rock; but I'm sure that the rock finds it humiliating to be stripped such. Your crabs are doing what crabs do. If they are doing something that goes against what you want going on in your tank, you can pull them out.

    Detritus?

Diamond goby will. They filter sand through their gills. Keeps the sand looking pretty nice in my tank but there is a drawback- the water has always got sediment floating around; not a full blown dust storm, but it's never crystal clear the way it used to be. Check this link...

    Help. Flame Angel wont eat.

Flame angels are not vegans. They prefer to munch on plant matter, but will routinely eat flake food that has animal protein in it, or your clams and other corals. If the fish is still fairly new to your tank, then it might still be adjusting to captivity, i.e. stressed out. That's kind of a...

    Limestone MUD??

http://www.labaquatics.com/ This is a link to a local company that does pretty comprehensive water testing for not much cost. You could mix up a batch of water with this mud in it and see what they say. Should give you a good idea about what it would be adding to your water column.

    My 50gal

I would've thought that there'd be some more "whiteish" lamps in there. Looks good in the pics regardless.

    80 Gallon Build

Holy crap man! Five months? I can't talk though, I've been sitting on a half complete canopy for at least that long. Nice looking stand there, that's some pretty wood! Do you know where it comes from? Can't wait to see the plumbing, sounds interesting.
