    Hi all, Got home from work this evening to find all of my snails TU on the bottom of the tank. Also the few polyps I have are closed up tight. Fish seem OK. Ammonia/Nitrate/Nitrite are 0 pH is about 8.2 Temp is about 82 Any thoughts? Thanks, Dan

    By the way, lighting is IceCap 660 ballast with 2 actinics and 2 blue actinics two are 36" and two are 46.5".

    Algae Quite a lot of bright green algae on the sand and on the back wall of the tank. Will hold off a bit on the blennie and see if the crop grows some more. What do you suggest algae be supplemented with? Kelp flakes? Thanks, Dan

    No Cycle to Speak Of Not much of a cycle. Saw a little spike in Ammonia and a little nitrate. Even threw in a large frozen shrip to get things going. Shrimp got really rancid and the protein skimmer generated a lot of nice scum. Started off with RO/DI water. Added live rock gradually over...

    Live Rock Placement

    Thanks for the feedback. If using egg crate has anyone experienced deadspots in the cells of the egg crate? I would'nt imagine there would be a lot of water movement in the cells that are covered up by the rock?? Am I thinking about this too much? I am considering getting a couple of sheets...

    Have never seen an 18T. Probably still too large though. The access in the front just isn't big enough to get it in. I've decided to cut a port in the back, and reinforce the remaining back wall with plywood. Thanks for the input though. Dan
