My sweetie was in there the other night and got me one of the Marine Life Aquatics skimmers, the Predator 1S. The enclosed instructions were awfully skimpy, but he was told more info could be found on the website. Only trouble is, the website seems to be MIA.

I'm a bit of a dolt on skimmers, my only one thus far has been an HOB, so was pretty plug-n-play. I needed those further instructions :-(

This offer is for either 48" or 72" VHO retro kits

All the ballast are larger style magnetic ballasts that aren't as efficient as their electronic ballast counterparts.

For a 2-Bulb set up you purchase as follows:

2 Actinic Blue VHO' @ 32.99ea -25% or 24.74
2 sets of encaps @15.99ea -25% or 11.99
Then you receive the ballast FREE
2-bulb VHO retro for 73.46 not a bad deal!!

These would be great to color correct your halide and create a great dawn to dusk type setting. You can run other size bulbs on these ballasts they just overdrive them. Less bulb life!

72" retro's would be slightly higher

how about the 46 1/2 in bulbs/end caps with ballast ? the 48 in bulbs w end caps wont fit into a 48 in hood-Same price? i would like to add the same to my MH and are those URI bulbs w/ reflectors on one side??

Thanks for the great buy today on the VHO's and endcaps. Made a world of a difference supplementing my halides. It's awesome looking now! Great coloring and all.

I should've went ahead with the 48" bulbs as the 46.5" because I forgot my canopy sits on the perimeter of the tank and I have the true 48" inside the canopy. Oh well I just centered the lights and all is fine.

This promo is for 24" bulbs also it just that the ballast overdrives them so you don't get long bulb life! The price runs the same as the 48" retro kit

I'm assuming you meant 15.99 for a pair of Endcaps and not a piece? right?

The standoffs are almost a necessity. They made the job of mounting the endcaps to my canopy a ton easier. Glad Jonas tipped me off to these.

I like the Actinic coloring of the Aquabrite bulbs but then again I can not compare it to the URI bulbs you mentioned.

Predator 1

Do you still have the Predator 1 skimmer?

Is that a stand alone unit?

What size pump would be well sutied for that particular model?

Predator 1 Skimmer

Yes I do still have the Predator 1 Skimmer. It is priced @ $150.00 it is rated for a 250-300 gallon tank. It is a stand alone unit unless you had a extremely large sump that would fit it. Otherwise it should be bulkheaded to the sump. The min pump to run it is a RIo 3100 on Sendra9 pump aor any other comparible size pump Little Giant Iwaki Etc.

Recently Added Closeout Item

I have just added Ocean Currents Rotating wave devices to the list of closeout items. They work of the return of you pump and come in different styles from a Ocellator ( 90 Rotator) to a Pulser (pulses water to the system) These are great products as long as they are kept clean! When they clogg up the don't work at all. I have 2 Ocellators working on a system with a SCWD that I just cleaned out the other day and they are as good as new. They are a great option to the higher priced Sea Swirl. These Wave devices are on sale for $35.00 Reg 69.99. They must operate of a fairly high volume pumps at least 500gph at the right height. They are a cost evective way to vary the water motion in you system at a fraction of the price of Sea Swirls!
