    My opinion is plastic tanks are much easier to work with the only real drawback being they scratch much easier if your not careful but then again they can always be polished

    I ran a Euro-Reef 5-3 on my 155 until a recent upgrade today to E-R 8-2 I also have a E-R 5-2 that I would run at the same time and it only just seemed to split the load when this was done I feed heavily and have a large bio load I think the Euro-Reefs are great skimmers also very easy to clean

    For a little more than the cost of the fluval 404 you can get a used sump and pump then you can start out with a good in sump skimmer several real good ones are for sale on the used equipment forums

    Stopping the Sump/Refugium from Overflowing

    Most reliable way is to drill a small hole in the return line I find that just below the water line in the tank and faceing away from the center works best check the hole once in a while to make sure it hasn't pluged check valves get debris on them and are not very reliable

    After reading about all the bad things about calurpa I decided to switch to chaeto can I just pull all the calurpa at one time or do I need to do a little at a time also want to know if chaeto needs lite 24/7 like calurpa :?:
