    Eagle Eye Button Polyp question.

Hello, Zoanthids are quite hardy and for sure are still alive. It sounds like something is irritating them though. I recommend checking salinity and temperature then observing carefully especially a couple of hours after the lights are out for any creatures that may appear on them. Regards, Kevin

    Mushrooms seperating

Hello, You can also put some small pieces of reef rubble on top or touching them. They usually attach to the rubble in a few days or weeks. They then can be glued to a location of your preference. I collect loose mushrooms and place them in the bottom of a small plastic container then place reef...

    sps loosing color

There have been many cases of this when switching from other light types but usually just in the first couple of weeks. They would not be fine for a few weeks or months then start to bleach because of lighting. One thing I would do is have the three main minerals (ca, mg, alk) tested with a...

    sps loosing color

    Clam spawn and coral reaction

With the daily spawning I thought for sure that there would be a negative effect on the water quality. I did notice an area of increased Cyano bacteria growth but I added a MP60 today so we will see how that works. I may need to tweak the programing on it tomorrow. Regards, Kevin

    Clam spawn and coral reaction

Hello, This Tridacna gigas has spawned every day for five days at 4-5 PM and lasts 2-3 hours. None of the fish or corals have reacted negatively. The tank is clear by morning and nitrogen levels test normal. In the past all my coral and clam spawn events occur in June/July. I think this is due...

Oops, I was just looking at some cool pictures of a tank full of Dendronephthya so they came to mind first  . See why scientific names are important :) "Dendrophyllia, Not distinguishable from very similar Tubastrea without examination of dead skeletal (septal fusion)...
