Buying Salt Part 1 - What is Most Important?

I voted for Quality/Consistency. I have used IO from the beginning. Probably will not try any other type of salt unless something goes wrong with them. Obviously, there are other better salt mixes...but they are more expensive, such as Tropic Marine sea salt. For what I'm doing at the...

    A. Polymnus rearing experience's

Hi there Chris and Barb. They are not black variant of A. polymnus. I know of a large hatchery in Thailand/Malaysia/Vietnam that are producing the black variant of A. polymnus. While yours are not the black variant, that is a great feat, nonetheless! All polymnus are tough to get breeding...

When a critter molts its exoskeleton...

I leave it in the tank. Cleaner shrimp, as with all other shrimp, will actually eat their old exoskeleton and gain some iodine from it. I see this happen all the time in my girlfriend's 10 gallon tank. They don't eat it right away. They are rather secretive for a couple days after they molt...

    Greg Schiemer dead

Condolences to his family. I have just listened to part of his speech on streaming audio via the internet. It is very informative, and this is definitely a loss to the hobby and the reefkeeping community :( Best, Ilham

very frustrated with my new 2 true percs

Please remember that if you purchase Tank Raised/Captive Bred specimens, you still need to QT because many places will put those fish in the same system as their wild-caught fishes. Therefore, your tank raised/captive bred fish have been exposed to diseases/parasites... Best, Ilham

    BRA fragger glue (Honey)

Hmm..I think it should work like all others. What I like to do...is to put a bead on on the crevice, rubble, etc you want to glue your frag on. Take out some water from the tank in a small container. Dip the rock all the way in, including the part you just put glue on. It will make a nice...
