    Black??? mithrax (Emerald) crab

The different species in the Mithraculus Genus have different colors and different shaped ridges on their backs. They can be green, red, black, brown, and even striped. Most species are safe when they are small however even everyones favorite, the emerald crab can become non-reef safe when...

Any advise on an octopus tank?

They are all fixed right now. Some of the web pages no longer existed but they had luckily been saved by The Internet Archiving Organization. I also added a link to some cuttlefish videos.

    Where did the science go?

Trust me, I've done plenty of those types of posts myself. I would spend a lot of time quoting and explaining and I always included a link. Then the persons next post was, "What should I do?" They didn't want to understand the science. In fact, it was clear they didn't even read what I...

    So long for now

When I was laying in a hospital bed and doctors were telling me I would probably never walk again, one of my friends called me. His name was Krish. Krish was my friend then, is my friend now, and will always be my friend. Hopefully none of you will ever understand how important a single phone...

    Fair assumption?

Different species of coralline have different tolerance for high lighting. In a high wattage reef tank, it's common to lose the greens, the oranges, and the dark maroon species. In those tanks, pink and purple tend to eventually become the dominant species.

    What are these little guys??

I would recommend plucking that Caulerpa on the right side. Is your Jewel Box Oyster on the top alive or dead?

    clown sweetlips

You want a VERY LARGE tank as they get huge. You also want to make sure that it was at your LFS for at least a month. (They don't tolerate shipping well so it's better for your LFS to take the loss due to accidental death rather than you).

    remembering

I think about this often because I have a friend who worked in the WTC, I have another friend in Iraq, and a young man I was once a guardian of is now in the military. Last weekend I had to take a muscle relaxer and I fell asleep with the TV on. They had the 9/11 movie on and for some reason I...

    mogul leds

I really don't know anything about them. I just wanted to point out that Lux is not a measurement that is useful for reefkeepers. We only care about PAR and PUR.
