    Mantis Babies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Still working on pics to show you, but that doen't look like what I've got. They don't have the stalked eyes, like I said, but the 'forearms' - the appendages are clearly developed... It's difficult to see, but maybe lack the characteristic "shrimp"-tail. I swear, people, I'm trying to get...

    Mantis Babies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It seems like I have an infestation of mantis babies  !!!!! They seem bigger than pods, and look like they have mantis appendages  ! They lack the stalked eyes, but I'm just not sure anymore. My wife said they were, and I dismissed it - told her they were just pods. But they...

    From the ocean

Thanks for the advice/info, Ron! I still have some hope for the sponge, I found him as he washed up on shore and set him in a cleaned out beer can full of seawater till we got home. He dried up on the tips just a bit, but I mean to trim those tips and maybe get him to grow onto a ock. He...

    From the ocean

I set up a 10 gal QT, threw in a branching orange sponge I found. I'm gonna try to get some more stuff my next day off. Is there anything I should do in the QT? All there is is a handful of shells and that sponge in there, running a cheapo penguin filter and cheapo standard lighting... I...

    How to frag?

Thanks, Diablo! My leather isn't toadstool type, but that seems pretty easy... You reckon a cutting a finger wouldn't be any different? I haven't called the airport yet, I'll let you know how it goes.

    How to frag?

I have a finger leather and some frogspawn I want to frag for a friend. I've never fragged anything like either of them. How should I do it, and then the best way to keep them till we get to there? Should I give them an iodine dip before bagging up? I'll be flying there, so I'm going to call...

    From the ocean

I just got back from the beach with my kids and we found a few clams (about an inch large), some mangrove seeds that are germinating, some white macroalgae, and some coral rubble that I'd like to trhow in the tank. I know QT is the way to go, but I don't have a QT setup. What risks exist if I...

    Sick Clowns

My other fish were just fine, too. Maybe various clowntypes are more susceptable to pH & dkH variances. I would stabilize the water conditions quickly but gradually (8.8 is VERY dangerous) and keep a good eye on everything else for pH/dkH stress. If any show signs of illness, QT hem, but I...

    Sick Clowns

I had a pair of A. occellaris that did what sounds like the same thing... Turns out my tank was hyperalkaline. What is your dkH? How often do you do water changes? is Ph normal? I originally though Brook or some other disease, but the answer was much more simple.
