    Could it be rust?

Funny, I had this exact problem TWICE. For me, the issue was ammonia spike from disturbing the sand/rocks. I just gave it some time and my clown was back to full health in a few days.

I want to buy a new tank...

Lol nate, I wouldn't go to that extreme and say your corals will look crappy. Husker, it really all depends on what you're going to be planning on keeping. You could by all means go for 150watt but you're really only going to be able to keep lps and softies, and sps literally right below the...

I want to buy a new tank...

Oh well, all mh will cover an area 2'x2', but the light penetration is dependent on the wattage. A 150 watt halide is going to cover the same footage as a 400watt, but the 400watt will be able to grow sps on the bottom of a 24" tank where as a 150watt will only be able to do sps on the top 1/2.

I want to buy a new tank...

^ what blk said. Odyssea is now on their second generation after the original 'burning' ballasts. a single good reflector will cover ~24x24" so depending on what tank you're getting, get 2 or 3. And yes If you had 3x 250watt you could definitely do most sps/clams, but you're going to have...

I want to buy a new tank...

I'm curious as to where you got that quote from. Was it your local jeweler? A retrofit 2x 150watt halide + t5s will run you 100-150 for the mh ballasts, 50 for the t5 ballast, 50 for all the reflectors (this is if the ballasts don't come with them, which they usually do especially if you get...

Cwazy's 13g Slice of the Ocean!

Those are 32oz bottles, So 64oz of water lasts me about 3-4 days. And I have ALOT of surface agitation and basically topless. It works by using internal pressure. If no air in get in, no water can get out. This is ONLY if the container is 100% airtight.

Cwazy's 13g Slice of the Ocean!

I couldn't get any siphon ATO's to work for me and I didn't want to put more money into making one work, so I just went with a double vacuum ATO Also, single red LED above my fuge with chaeto in it.

Cwazy's 13g Slice of the Ocean!

Hey all, For those of you who don't know, I started with a 10g 5 years ago, then upgraded to a 40b a couple months after the 10g and then decided to quit for 4 years. And now I'm back into this money sucking hobby (woohoo) About a year ago, I started up again with something really small, a...

Using colored LEDs for a fuge light?

Interesting chart tat, I'm wondering what is the y axis? Interesting thought skimmy, I wonder which direction light and reproduction goes. whether it is red light promotes sexual reproduction, or if red light is just the best for sexual reproduction. Also, I'm only planning on growing...

    Cwazy's DIY 16x16x12 Glass tank

Haha, that sounds unforatunate peppie, I did some research and general rule of thumb is a slot 1/4" in thickness and 1" deep will yield 40gph of flow. I have 10 slots, so I can afford about 400gph running through it. I just finished moving everything into the new tank in my apartment. I'll...
