LOL I like that stand! But you're right, I just have to be careful and not bump into it too hard.

I tested for leaks last night, found two and redid the back two edges (thankfully, since It'll be covered by the AIO) and I tested for leaks again a while ago and its now its leak free!

I just finished siliconing the AIO into the tank, I cant wait to test this thing with the pump running!

I'm trying to configure a new top off system because a 48oz pet drinking bottle isnt going to last me long enough. I'm planning on still using a gravity fed system because the location of this tank is going to be right beside a really tall closet, which is already packed with random crap, so why not load more on there.

I bought a 1g drinking bottle like this one:

I was thinking of tapping either the cap or the bottom of the bottle, and putting a bulkhead with a barb hoses adapter. Ghetto, but no electricity necessary.

I do not want to burst anyone's bubble. I could be wrong. I have had a couple friends mix acrylic with glass inside tank. The acrylic expanded and broke a starfire tank. Your work looks fantastic. I hope you have no issues.
 
Thanks for your concern Ed, I did not know that could even happen.

Fortunately, the glass was cut so unaccurately that the inside dimensions of the tank is actually 15.65" while my acrylic false wall was precisely cut at 15.5" which gives me .15" of play, also I lightly siliconed the falsewall to the glass, which makes expansion of the falsewall not too big of a deal.
 
I like it when people build their own tank! From the ground up. I have built 3 AIOs in the past year. I' ll be watching. One thing I have learned the hard way is to cut your teeth extra deep. When you do your flow test make sure you have all of your equip. and media in place. Then you can cut a small piece of plastic for each set of teeth and use a clamp to hold it in place to get your flow to a max. once you find the sweet spot for each set of teeth you can glue it in place. I did this on my first two builds. On the last one I got cocky. I ended up having to cut the teeth while the tank was full of livestock. Not just once but twice. Good luck. I'm tagging along.
 
Haha, that sounds unforatunate peppie, I did some research and general rule of thumb is a slot 1/4" in thickness and 1" deep will yield 40gph of flow. I have 10 slots, so I can afford about 400gph running through it.

I just finished moving everything into the new tank in my apartment. I'll take some pictures this weekend.
