    What kind of lighting do you have? Stretching like that is usually a sign of insufficient light. Or you have snake polyps.......

    Well water usage

    it depends on the well but unless you have a really awful one it wont be any harder on your ro/di than many peoples tap water. Test the TDS of it and it will give you an idea. im lucky, my well is at the base of the cascades and about 40 tds give or take right out of the tap.

    I dont care who wrote it, I think its horrible advice to put your intakes in the overflow box for 2 major reasons 1. most overflows cant take that kind of flow if you are running a decent sized CLS and if they can it will take away from your surface skimming ability as it will be much deeper...

    I once cut a featherdusters head off. Thought the 3/4" worm next to the tube needed to go back inside it, so i cut the end of the tube off so it would be a clean hole to easily slide him back in..........cut the ADULT dusters head right off with scissors.
