    Some Plumbing for Vickie

Joey, wish I could say the tank was up and running...sadly, it isn't yet. My husband has been working 7/12s for several weeks now, so the tank sits in the gararge with unfiinshed plumbing, but we are hoping to get it going yet this summer. I will post some pictures of the finished tank, but in...

    Mojo's Airtones Clone Skimmer =)

Is that the airstone you are talking about Mike? You must be talking to Jon. I think I want the ReefFantaSea Mojo special skimmer still! :D

    Mojo's Airtones Clone Skimmer =)

Jon, when you get this puppy tweaked to perfection - send me a PM - we saw Mike's skimmer again yesterday and I really would like to try something like that on our new 150. We only have 36" height in stand though, so you gotta get the hacksaw out on that 56" beast!! Did you get the wet...

    Some Plumbing for Vickie

Will do, Scooty! Darrel can do the "real" work - putting the plumbing together, and I'll play Ansel Adams and get those pics posted. I think seeing pictures of Nikki's set up, as Mojo put it together, was really helpful for us; so posting pics of our process as we do each step might really...

    Some Plumbing for Vickie

Darrell, it has sure helped us (my hubby is Darrel too) to see pics of Nikki's closed loop. I will be taking some pictures when Mike and Darrel work on our closed loop and will hopefully be able to post them Sunday or Monday. A picture is worth a thousand words (and several avoided mistakes!)...

    Some Plumbing for Vickie

Absolutely, Scooty! Brian at IAP told me they are working on the coast-to-coast now, so the tank is getting close to being done. Very exciting! :)

Ron S builds some awesome stands for people in Midcolumbia

jjarmillo - There are two stands pictured on the thread. Our stand is the one that is already finished. It is 69" long X 28" wide X 36" high. The tank is 60X24X24 (150 gal). This set-up will sit in a 'niche' so only access will be from the front. The opening in the front of the double...

Recent Drought Anouncement in Washington State

Alice, I had to laugh about your reference to a "rain barrel" - having grown up with one in New England, I certainly know what they are, but most of us living in Eastern Washington probably would never have one - no rain = no barrel! I do intend to capture that waste RO water and put it on...

Recent Drought Anouncement in Washington State

Two questions: Living on the east side (i.e. very dry side) of the state...does anyone know if the 'waste water' from your RO/DI unit is okay to use to water plants, lawn etc (better than sending it down the drain) and also, what about the saltwater when you do water changes - does that hurt...

    Some Plumbing for Vickie

Okay - the tank is coming along nicely and the stand is done. Electrician is coming this week-end. We now need to make some plumbing decisions. Mojo - you listening? We need to know about drain and return sizes. We are thinking 1 1/2" drains X 2 and 1" returns X 2 for the 150? Agree? If...

Plumbing Ideas for a Room Divider

Wow, that is AWESOME, Mike! Kris, this is going to be one sweet tank! I am going to follow along and see what you guys dream up next. Kris, FYI, we also just ordered our new tank from IAP and Mike is designing our CL. Even though our tank is a 'baby' (150g) compared to yours, it is great to...

Hey Mike - what do you mean by plugs? ...more electrical outlets? Calling the electrician today!

Ron does great work! Thanks Ed - with YOUR help/advice. Darrel says we will either have a killer tank, or go through total bankruptcy!

Lights - amp? for various types?

Does anyone know where to find a comparison of amperage for various lights - VHO, T5, MH - all the various ones? Planning our lighting for our new 150 gal reef (fish, softies, SPS, clams) - and trying to figure out how much power it is going to need before we call the electician to come out...

    Some Plumbing for Vickie

Thanks, Mike. Do you happen to know how much amperage the MBV draws? We only have 20 amp service to the tank outlet wall at this time, and we are trying to decide if we are going to need to hire an electrician! Also, Darrel wanted me to ask if still think the Ampmaster 4700 is the way to go...
