    What is this pest?

You bet and thank you for asking. I spent months researching this "digitate hydroid" (named by aquarists). I will gather up all my info and get something written up for RF members.

    What is this pest?

Hi guys I have been gone from this forum for quite a few years. Digitate hydroids.... They can and will destroy Zoanthids. My tank was littered by these nasty things. True manual removal is next to impossible. NOTHING eats these things. They will survive almost any attempt to control them BUT...

    Solar power

Right on Paul Its great to see people freeing themselves from the grid. Solar is a huge investment but well worth it in the end. Did you have any problems with county codes?

    Solar power

Hey guys! I just had to read this thread. Good thread, keep it going but watch the facts RE power has a LOT of factors to look into. grid-tie (wont sell a single kW back to the grid unless you are producing more than your house is using) - batteries and inverters (pure sine wave, modified...

update on my home power project

www.ellensburg-re-power.com I work on this site every weekend learning about xhtml code so bear with me on the site. I have installed a 1kW wind turbine that will charge a 800 HR battery bank and 1400W inverters. This setup is to do the data logging for the next 2 years. I want to make sure we...

Please help! My cal. is 300

The more you try to change it the worse it may get. Look at the ingredients of what you are adding. A lot of additives will increase your Alk levels and drop your Cal levels. IO is a great salt, hands down. Stop dosing and start changing water. It will balance. THEN if you feel, you can raise...

I want to harness the wind for power

The one I am looking at is the Jacobs 20kWh grid-tie turbine. For the package deal $53,000 not installed. I have to go so big because I use 10 times more than the average home :( 46,000 kWh a year at 14Mph winds. BCT yes any power you make extra from what you use comes to you as a credit on...

I want to harness the wind for power

Ok well I live in an area that gets more than a breeze all year. Actually an average 14MPH wind. I have been looking into a 20kWh wind turbine. I consume 32000 kWh a year. Has any one looked into this before? Know of any down falls? Todd

    Question

All you can really do is run the tank. See what temp it hits and stays at and then you will know if you need one or not.

New LR is a little too "alive"

Its the little ones that you will have a hard time finding. If the peppers are doing their job it may be of no concern. I would leave it in the 20G till YOU feel like it is safe. Keep flipping, turning, looking.

Is there a topic on skimmate color

Hey Scooter but why do we see people with dark green skimmate? That is my original question. Why green Why brown I just have that gut feeling that skimmate can tell us what is in the water that it is pulling out. I have been battling water quality issues for a few years now and end up lost in...

ya NOT good to pull apart. Aptasia is one of those things we just have to deal with. Its like any other anemone, leave a part behind and it will grow. Keep those nutrients down, peppers in, and joes juice on hand.
